Wildfires burning across Oklahoma prompt emergency declaration

Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin today declared a State of Emergency for all 77 Oklahoma counties as more than two dozen wildfires spread across the state, causing evacuations.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with all Oklahomans who have been impacted by these fires as well as our emergency responders in harms' way," Fallin said. "We know homes, as well as other property, have been lost and we will work to do everything we can to help Oklahomans during their time of need."

Under the Executive Order, state agencies can make emergency purchases and acquisitions needed to expedite the delivery of resources to local jurisdictions. The declaration also marks a first step toward seeking federal assistance should it be necessary.

To the people of oklahoma why do you vote these right wing nutjobs into office who claim they are god fearing? When are you people going to realize that Glenn beck is not god and that the bible says you do not worship false idols before him, for I am jealous god.

In a traditional refinance, insist on a good-faith estimate of the costs up front, before you give the lender a penny, search the web for "123 Mortgage Refi" I would strongly recommend them. They got me 2.891% rate!

ohmygosh...I think YOU need to go back to the dark ages. Not all Oklahomans are redneck, gun-carrying meth-heads who live in teepees and drive covered wagons.

Is that any reason to wish harm on them? I hate to ask how you were raised growing up because any one with any common sense at all would know that everyone is different and that's what makes the world go round ma'am. YOUR opinion isn't the only one out there... if you want people to respect YOU, YOU respect others. I seriously doubt the wives are "chained" to the ovens. I have been to Oklahoma City numerous times and it's a wonderful city full of successful businesswomen. And furthermore, so what if they are in the Bible Belt?? I'd rather live where people are kind to one another and help each other out than elsewhere where people are rude and hateful and no one gives a care about anything... which is apparently where you live. Remind me never to visit there. Yuck.

I was born and raised in Oklahoma City, and yeah, there are a bunch of redneck hillibillies running around these parts, but there are also a bunch of very friendly people who would give you the shirts off their backs. It's easy to lump us all together, but we're not all idiot inbreds. I doubt you would be talking smack about the Okies who've lost their homes if you could meet them and see the tears in their eyes. They aren't bad people, they're just unlucky people. Go ahead and laugh at them if it makes you feel better, but I don't see the point in you doing that. I would hate to get to that point in my life when I sit around laughing at the misfortunes of others.

ohmygosh – I guess the positive is we won't see your sorry a$$ in Oklahoma. All the more reason to go there. You my friend are an elitist bigot. So stay in your mom's basement and do everyone a favor.
