Gadhafi: Benghazi residents 'traitors'

In a telephone address televised on Libyan state TV, leader Moammar Gadhafi criticized residents of opposition-held Benghazi on Thursday, calling them "traitors" for seeking help from outsiders.

Gadhafi said his forces will enter Benghazi to rid the city of those "traitors" and that his forces
will search everyone for weapons. He added that his forces gave amnesty to those who gave up their weapons in Ajdabiya.

Gadhafi's ground forces have been fighting their way toward Benghazi, in eastern Libya, for several days.

State TV claimed Thursday that Gadhafi's forces were in control of the city of Ajdabiya, on the road to Benghazi. But opposition leaders said they maintained control. Gadhafi's forces have taken control of the eastern and western gates to the city and are trying to get inside, while the opposition controls the southern entrance, opposition leaders said.

Oh, dear Lord, he's going to commit genocide on his own people! This man *must* be stopped, and then held accountable for his crimes....

They aren't traitors, but soldiers that have sold out their freedom for democracy. Gadaffi should be ashamed.

I don't really blame Mohammar Qadaffi for being angry but I think that he should grant a general amnesrty anyway to the people of Benghazi and get to the bottom of the uprising to find out whether it was foreign instigated or not.

I can tell you right now who's behind the Libyan uprising. It's the C.I.A. and the British M-6 who are fomenting this uprising in order to topple Qadaffi, replace him with some pro-Western stooge and gain control of Libya's oil. It's as simple as that!!!

The procrastination of the UN security council reminds me of that old adage."Rome burns while Nero fiddles". Also of some of the treatment dealt out to some satellite states of the once USSR. We (The World) screamed and shouted and talked but sat on our hands. I suspect this will end the same way unfortunately for the people of Libya.

RDC is one of the richest country in the world. I worked in the Bas Congo area. I also worked in Burundi. According to my little experience, the real problem there is this criminal called Kagame (Rwanda president). But he is a good friend of UK and US govt so ....

@Paul: Some of you are bad people. You kill rhinos and elephants for their ivory. You better stop it, or the UN will do something.
