The shooter is probably eastern european, seeing as they are overrepresented in violent crimes nowadays.

Doesn't really matter what the motives were, killing a human being is wrong all the way around.

Defending yourself legitimately isn't murder. It is self-defense. Had one of the patrons at that mall had killed the shooter you would condemn them too?

Caucasian man dressed in military camouflage clothing shoots two full rounds from an automatic machine gun during a 20 minute massacre and kills 6, leaving many severely wounded. Provincial city Alphen aan den Rijn is not generally known for criminal activities.

Shooter has reloaded his weapon 2 times and killed 6 people. It was a white male with blond hear en bleu eyes. He walked with his gun into a store and begins to shot to people who are at that moment at the shop. Than he walked about 2 rounds trough the mall and shoots at people at other stores.

    The reason is still unknow.

  13. Oh Well

So, in summary, a person with a submachinegun?! went around shooting people like they were sheep in a pen, nice. Legal or not, wherever there are criminals, they will have guns, it is just a question of if anyone else has one to defend themselves with one against it, otherwise, they'll just be slaughtered like this. The Swiss have automatic weapons in almost every house, yet we dont hear of problems like this, probably because any shooter knows he'll be gunned down almost immediately there by responsible citizens who know they have the right to defend themselves.
    .
Sounds like you have a problem over there with gun control and you should ban guns. Hows that working out for you. Huh?

Guns and firearms are not allowed for citizens in the Netherlands unless they have a proper licence and storage facility. Even the police does'nt use theire weapons, and when they do there will be and investigation why they would have fired. Since a few years we have a huge immigration stream from east european country's wich bring or trade weapons on the black market.

Oh come on. We have these type of shootings once every 20 years on a population af 17 million.. The US has them every week. if you give everyone a gun more people will just have a gun to do something like this. Plus your able to kill 5 people (de purpetrator also shot himself, he was the sixth) before anyone else is able to grab a gun so that wouldn't help. It's the usual stoopid reasening "if more people would have guns, we would have less shootings...". That theory is never confirmed by the statstics, coutry's where guns are legal have more shootings per inhabitant then coutrys where they are not. Know your facts before talking.

Its not really a contest who is right and who is wrong, is it? On the whole, our country isnt this violent. As tragic as it is, its an incident, that I hope, wont be food for copycats. I think its a sign of very bad taste to promote having weapons in a household

Guns are not permitted to be kept after military service in Switzerland anymore, and it has been this case for many years.

Please don't say "Oh well" and try to push your anti gun-control agenda... people are dead. Get a heart please. RIP

Well first off i don't think even the swiss carry their semi's around malls. Secondly it is obvious that the more guns are available the more they will be used. If you try to make a plea for people to be able to own guns with minimal restrictions so they can defend against these types of gunmen then you sir, are an idiot. The wild west has come and long since gone; People kill people but guns sure do make it a heck of a lot easier!

The Netherlands enforces a strict gun policy, but there is a major influx of weapons like these semi automatics from the eastern bloc. With the borders being open within the EU there is only minor customs control at the borders within the EU it has proven extremely difficult to get a hold on these weapon imports. That does not mean the Dutch government should start handing out guns just in case a nut like this shows up. It is a tragedy and the only task for the Dutch government is to take a hard look at how to better enforce the gun laws.

Don't be such an idiot. I assume you're American, so that figures.
So you mean that this couldn't happen in Switzerland since everyone has a gun at home hm? Ok so when the Swiss go shopping, they all carry fire arms, right? Yeah right. Moron.

Go ahead, kid yourself into thinking the US is best at everything. Fact is your gun laws suck and cause death and destruction every single f'ing day.

Come on man, you can't be serious...This happend in a mall. Do the Swiss carry their guns to a mall to protect themselves? And what if they do.....

Guns must be banned, statisics shows that. Someday you will understand it......

I never understood people who think its smarter and safer to have guns in your home. While it is possible, its very rare when you read about a gun owner shooting a man who broke into his own home or shooting a mugger in the street , yet its much more common to read about a child playing with their parents, relative, or neighbors gun and accidentally killing someone or a person getting burglurized and having their gun stolen. I wouldn't want to live my entire life waiting for that opportunity to use my gun.

I feel horrible reading this news. A feeling of anger and a deep, bitter sadness.
Confirmed are 6 deaths (including the gunman) and 16 wounded. Insane, just insane. And then some people here (Holland) think such can happen only in the US.
Yeah, right. My thoughts go out to family, friend and relatives of the ones that lost their lives today.
