We do drill for our own oil. Roughly half of the oil we use is produced domestically. Even if we produced 100% of the oil we used it would NOT affect prices at all. Oil is a global commodity and if it can be sold overseas for greater profit that just what the producers would do. Unless you want to end the whole free-market thing.
Well as for the jobs, you might want to talk to the corporations that are shipping them overseas.
Obama can't just wave a magic wand and magically jobs are created! Why aren't you asking that of the Republicans in congress who ALL ran on job creation and said their singular focus would be jobs. They haven't even mentioned it since being in office.
Also, maybe you missed that huge oil spill in the Gulf, but it destroyed the economy in the gulf states who have seen unemployment sky rocket since the spill. Some Americans don't have the attention span of a 5 year old and can remember a year ago.
RUFFNUTT is right, why hasn't Obama created millions of jobs? He is all powerful and has totally control over every aspect of the economy, clearly he should be using this power to create jobs for absolutely everyone immediately.
And we clearly can't afford to give any foreign aid. We're the only nation in the world running a deficit and saving that <1% will go a huge way towards fixing that. Besides, helping those less fortunate than us has never benefited us in the past and is just plain wrong.
It seems that no matter who the republicans put as a candidate cnn will make them look like the worst pick in the world. If Obama was running as a republican CNN would kill him too.
I want to know who CNN thinks would be the right pick for the republicans. I don't think they can give us one because to them if your republican you are evil.

Sadly this article isn't about Obama's job making ability or policies to begin with. The republicains just want to distract americans from the real issues that affect our daily life. The whole birth certificate issue is just smoke and mirrors. I refuse to believe Trump is an actual candidate for president, he is a joke. CNN and other news affilialtions have turned the media into a celebrity update center and now it is leaking into OUR democratic process.

@ Curtis: We live in a democratic republic, and the POTUS does NOT control every aspect of the economy. Control is distributed between regulatory agencies, like the government, and the companies that actually produce products, and the financial centers. We are not like Venezuela, where a loon like Chavez has destroyed democracy and their standard of living. You seem very comfortable with the idea of dictatorship, and thats a frightening thought.
We don't need oil, but no one is willing to see that b/c they are distracted by all of this crap. We have unlimited natural energy at our seashores.

Also, the amount we spend feeding and helping people is a tiny tiny fraction of what we spending blowing people up. The Iraq war cost us over $30,000 per American family. Giving to foreign aid doesn't just help people, it helps our standing in the world, helps the image of the United States, and helps us politically.

Please, please explain to me why you think Donald Trump is suitable to be President? Because he "tells it like it is?" What does that mean, really, in the scheme of getting anything done with Congress, with our citizens, with the world?
