Unborn child has Facebook profile

Unborn baby Marriah Greene has a lot to say, at least according to her Facebook profile.

The child attends Tummy University, enjoys soccer and swimming and talks in first person. And her friends talk back to her– in baby-speak, naturally.

Of course, it’s really her mother, Ellie Greene of Whitehouse, Texas, updating the page, but the fetus already has more than 260 friends.

When Ellie and her husband, Matt, decided it was time to announce their pregnancy, they wanted a quick, inclusive method, and what’s faster than Facebook to spread exciting news?

“Within a day she had over 100 friends,” Ellie said, according to affiliate KLTV.

Friends quickly responded to updates about Marriah. They give advice, make jokes and compliment her beauty in the ultrasound photos.

“We wanted to keep the page going, so she could go back and look at it,” Ellie said, giving her daughter the opportunity to see how many people adored her before she was even born.

The parents plan to continue updating the page, with her birth story coming soon. After all, “The word in the belly is there's a lot more to see.”

I think it shows that this child is a human being before it exits the womb. When we abort we are killing a person.

Really? Two unimaginative parents creating a superfluous facebook page is a good argument against abortion? I'm all for debate when logical, rational and not easily defeated arguments are used, but what you just said is easily the most absurd argument since every Creationist argument which has ever been used.

      In short: you are dumb.

Angry Hillbilly, your name describes you well. The image is of their yet-to-be-born child on whom their warm thoughts of the future have been placed. How on earth is that superfluous?? To you, maybe, but certainly not to them and to their friends who will shortly be touched by the reality of this child's life outside the womb.

While they obviously created this to share with family and friends, it IS a tremendously good argument for preserving life! In addition to the logical element of the argument, there is also a quite justified emotional argument. And rightly so. Most people, except sociopaths and psychopaths are disturbed by the murder of a child like this one!! It is beyond most rational people how ANYONE can say that the "rights" of the mother include the ability to murder a child like this in the womb, especially when that means that your own mother could have made such a claim to unreasonable "rights" with respect to you!

"The image is of their yet-to-be-born child on whom their warm thoughts of the future have been placed. How on earth is that superfluous?"

You must be new to facebook. There's probably thousands of pages dedicated to cats, unborn babies, "I bet X can get more fans than Y," and the thousands of other lame pages that 16 year old girls can hit "like" on in order to feel special. Honestly, enough is enough. Facebook is lame enough as it is, the last thing it needs are more people trying to be a part of the latest fad and making it a cluttered mess of vestigial time wasters.

"While they obviously created this to share with family and friends, it IS a tremendously good argument for preserving life!"

Anyone can start a facebook page for anything. Using the fact that they did as a way of saying "See? Babies are life because you can make facebook pages for them" is positively dumb. Further more, saying all abortions is wrong because at some point during the pregnancy it looks like a full grown baby is a Hasty Generalization Fallacy.

"Most people, except sociopaths and psychopaths are disturbed by the murder of a child like this one!"

      See above.

"It is beyond most rational people how ANYONE can say that the "rights" of the mother include the ability to murder a child like this in the womb, especially when that means that your own mother could have made such a claim to unreasonable "rights" with respect to you!"

Ah, so since this pregnancy is both planned, the fetus is healthy and poses no danger to the mother, that means that ALL pregnancies are always the same way. God damn brilliant.

Eagerly awaiting destroying your opinions more; I'm really enjoying myself.

First of all, you need to be 13 to have a facebook account, so having that account is fraud. Second, why is CNN reporting this? Is it a slow news day? Did we not forget there's a war going on, tornadoes just devastated several US cities, floods, families lives turned upside down. Come on guys

I am so happy that you stuck your fetus on the net. It's good to have that pimpin of the baby before its born. I only hope that when he grows up and your in a nursing home and bed ridden he can return the favor. Please give up the crack and stop this nonsense. Your really the best reason for a bortions that I kno.
