Gotta Watch: TV mishaps

Caught on tape – TV mishaps. There's just something about watching an AWKWARD exchange after the wrong winner is announced in front of millions of people on television that keeps viewers tuned in. Check out these major mishaps, which brought laughs, confusion and questions.

And the winner is – Fittingly, BET chose a fan to announce the winner of the Viewer's Choice Award. The problem was the winner's name in the teleprompter didn't match what she had in her hand. The result was one of the most awkward moments in award show history, partly because it pitted two high-profile ex's against each other.

'This is a complete accident' – What is it about live shows and mixing up the winners' names? One Australian TV host was mortified when she announced the winner of a reality TV model competition, only to realize seconds later, she was wrong.

Worst game show ever? – The most painful mistakes often involve money, like in this 2010 game show clip. This couple just knew they had the answer right. The game show said they didn't – and the man and wife team lost $800,000. But as it turned out later, the couple WAS right and the game show was wrong.

To maintain any sort of credibility, the game show needs to rectify the error as soon as possible. The show will probably go bust anyway so it may be a moot point. Jeopardy corrects their errors on the show immediately which is why they're respected.

They answered the question correctly – give them the money, period.

I find it ironic that the photo caption reads, "Sometimes the media just doesn't get it right." The term "media" is plural and, therefore, the caption should read, "Sometimes, the media just don't get it right..."

I wonder if Tom Dewey would have made a better President Truman did. For one thing, we should have stayed out of Korea and just let things there take their course and I wonder if Dewey would have done exactly that or would he have caved in to McArthur and went all out and started WW3. I guess that one will never know!

Am I the only person that thinks they are being a tad dramatic about their situation. They were right and deserve the money, but does it have to be that dramatic. They act like someone took their first child. I get it money is important and it could change their lives, but to be that dramatic about it just made me giggle.

They wouldn't have won $800,000 but a lessor amount. Getting that answer right would have dropped the other doors which had money on them, and they would have had to answer a few more questions before the game ended, with each question making them lose more money. Fox should have given them not only a good cash amount and a huge apology, but ALSO the right to come on the show and finish their effort appropriately.
