A federal judge in Atlanta, Georgia, has blocked a controversial state law cracking down on illegal immigrants from taking effect until the broader legal issues are resolved.
Monday's order by Judge Thomas Thrash, which CNN has obtained, temporarily prevents enforcement of the law, which would penalize those who transport or harbor illegal immigrants.
The case is Georgia Latino Alliance v. Deal. The law, known as HB 87, was scheduled to go into effect Friday.

Gotta love how illegals are getting more protection from the government than its own citizens. We get taxed to death while the federal government continues to be negligent about illegal immigration. Meanwhile when the states actually try to pass something to pick up the slack, Mexico and the US government team up to strike it down in court. I hate this new handout liberal agenda we have in the United States, the democrats have turned their back on US citizens in order to secure the Latino vote. this idea that there is such a thing as illegal immigration would make the founding fathers roll over in their graves. and not just half of them, you know the half that would roll over to see a federal judge strike down a state law, but all of them. this country was started based solely on allowing anyone and everyone to come here and live, maybe not freely, but they could live. if you want to make a real difference in the amount of illegal immigrants coming to the us, not america because america is more than the 50 states, then make the process for legalization easier, like it was for all of our ancestors, because everyone came from somewhere else
