A federal judge in Atlanta, Georgia, has blocked a controversial state law cracking down on illegal immigrants from taking effect until the broader legal issues are resolved.
Monday's order by Judge Thomas Thrash, which CNN has obtained, temporarily prevents enforcement of the law, which would penalize those who transport or harbor illegal immigrants.
The case is Georgia Latino Alliance v. Deal. The law, known as HB 87, was scheduled to go into effect Friday.

Ilegal are just that and those that hire them are also breaking the law. The Federal government is failing this country by not enforcing the laws we currently have and therefore are forcing the state to take matter in their own hands. Illegal should be denied all benefit once found deport immediately back to the home country. The individual that hired should be charge for the cost of deportation. If there are no jobs they will not come. With that said I also think the US should set up temporary visa for the worker that what to work on the farms,

Unfortunately latinos are targeted because the majority of illegal immigrants are from the mexican border. It's harder to pose as an illegal through the airport.

An old school mate of mine and a strong GOP suporter and gun rights activists just so happens to be a lumber mill owner. When I asked him what he thought about the crackdown on illegals this is what he said, "Man, the housing industry is already in the dumps. That is probably about 60-70% of our work and without these guys we have working here, we will go out of business very soon."

It's also extremely difficult to become a citizen of the United States. It can take up to 20 years. Let me ask some you this: If your family was starving and there was a better life for them just a couple hours away what would you do? Wait 20 years? IM not saying illegal immigrants are in the right, but you have to look at it from multiple perspectives. Also, i have a friend who is an illlegal immigrant and their family pays taxes. You dont have to have Social Security to pay taxes, just a tax I.D. card.

The requirements to become a US citizen, that is , for those legally in the country, is exactly five years. Ask me about it, I became a citizen after living here five years.

Aaron, I disagree with you on your statement that many citizens of Georgia disagree with this bill. The majority of people I have talked to in Gwinnett and Cobb Counties are for the bill. It seems those against it are farmers in Southern Georgia and the chicken plants that hire illegal workers to do their dirty work. The bill is to slow the tide and eventually close up illegal immigration. It is called illegal immigration for a reason; it is unlawful.
The elected representatives of the people no longer have any way of carrying out the will of the voters. Any Federal judge can over rule the vote of the citizens any time to support any liberal agenda they choose.This is the type of thing that causes revolutions in some countries and may be on the verge of causing one in the U.S..Justice is only for the ones breaking the law under the current system.

Many of these people who claim they r Americans r descendent from places in Europe. At one time or another, their relatives came here asking to b welcome into the USA.
