Nike re-signs Michael Vick

Michael Vick, the star National Football League quarterback whose career was interrupted by a dogfighting conviction, has reached an endorsement agreement with athletic equipment maker Nike.

"We have re-signed Michael Vick as a Nike athlete," Megan Saalfeld, a Nike spokeswoman, said in an e-mail to CNN.

Vick, currently on the roster of the Philadelphia Eagles, served 20 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to bankrolling a dogfighting operation. He has since emerged as a spokesman against dogfighting.

"Michael acknowledges his past mistakes," Saalfeld said. "We do not condone those actions, but we support the positive changes he has made to better himself off the field. "

Here's a crash course on Michael Vick:
"As the Little Red Dog lay on the ground, fighting for air, Quanis Phillips grabbed its front legs and Michael Vick grabbed its back legs. They swung the dog over their head like a jump rope then slammed it to the ground. The first impact didn't kill it. So, Phillips and Vick slammed it again. The two men kept at it, alternating back and forth, pounding the creature against the ground until, at last, the little red dog was dead." – from The Lost Dogs, by Jim Gorant

Nope, never buying Nike again. Dog fighting isn't a "mistake", it's a DECISION someone makes to do something cruel to a innocent animal. A person who does that has something missing in their heart. You don't "change" after that, it's who you are.

Vick PERSONALLY HUNG A DOG and was aware of the other dogs that were murdered! What kind of a person do you have to be to do something like that? I can't believe I actually read someone comment, "Nobody's perfect." That's what you say when you get into a car accident or yell at your child, not when you HANG A DOG! Vick will do whatever it takes to get his old career back . . . even lie. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING NIKE AGAIN!

  9. calvin klein underwear kobe

Calvin klein underwear quality is very good but the price is slightly higher. As the saying goes no good goods cheaper. You have your truth. This brand of underwear is really fashionable. In fact, there are some underwear brand world style. But the contrast I prefer calvin klein men's and women calvin klein 365 , calvin klein steel Series series.

Your blog is pretty cool to me and your subject matter is very relevant. I was browsing around and came across something you might find interesting. I was guilty of 3 of them with my sites. "99% of blog managers are guilty of these 5 errors". http://tinyurl.com/7z8coet You will be suprised how fast they are to fix.

"Spokesperson" hardly addresses the needs that the dogs who are victimized by fighting require. How about putting his money where is mouth his? Once you cross over to the dark side, and feel/think/act that it is acceptable to treat another living creature the way he did, I have serious doubts about his ever "rehabilitating". Dead dogs can't "rehabilitate".

While Vick may have served his time in the eyes of the law, Endorsements should be reserved for those that have shown moral character and leadership in their lives. just because a creul assh*~=! says he has changed his ways and realized his wrongdoing does not warrant embracing him. How do I explain to my child that he used to torture, fight, kill, strangle, etc. animals for fun but it's OK now? I wish everyone would send a Nike shoe back to Nike in protest. I sure will never support Nike. I truly hope Vick has changed his beliefs, he should be allowed to go on with his life, but to embrace him, not me.
