Lightning strikes tree near Caylee Anthony memorial site

Hours after Casey Anthony learned on Thursday that she will leave jail next week, lightning apparently struck a tree next to a makeshift memorial in honor of her slain daughter,  Caylee.

No one saw lightning strike the pine tree on Suburban Drive in Orange County, Florida, where teddy bears and flowers mark the spot where 2-year-old Caylee's remains were found on December 11, 2008.

But long, diagonal strips of exposed wood scarred the tall pine tree, WESH reported, and bits of bark lay scattered across the road.

"It could be a sign from the angels that they aren't happy with what's happened," a visitor to the site told the Orlando Sentinel newspaper. "The rain, the lightning, the storm - it's the heavens indicating they aren't happy."

There are more lightning strikes in Florida per square mile than in any other state, according to weather.com.

A Pinellas County jury acquitted Anthony, 24, of murder and manslaughter charges Tuesday in the death of her daughter. The same jury convicted her of four charges of obstruction of justice for lying to police during the search for Caylee.

Judge Belvin Perry sentenced Anthony to four years in jail - one year for each of her four convictions - but with credit for nearly three years already served and good behavior, her release date was set for Wednesday, July 13, a court spokeswoman said.

I hope one of these days we'll eventually find out what truly happened to Caylee. Hope Casey will be haunted by Caylee till Casey finally steps up to the plate and 'fesses up and tells us if someone was also involved with Caylee's killing. Caylee will then be at peace. Poor little girl!

There was enough evidence in the prosecution case against Casey. It just wasn't used they went on heresy there was no evidence of a drowing.

My god, is everyone in this country that uneducated. The media took Casey's right to a fair trial away from her, whether she is guilty or not. Many men DIED to give you the right TO A FAIR TRIAL!!!!! Have you all lost your minds?? Anyone of us could be set up for something we didn't do. ANYONE, This is why men have lost their lives defending this right FOR CENTURIES. Are you that stupid that you will let the media take this precious right away from YOU. YES YOU, if you let it be taken from one of us it will be taken from all of us. The media has NO BUSINESS in this affair. This is not a HOLLYWOOS SHOW, this is NOT a CIRCUS. YOU IDIOTS

When you put it that way, war is stupid, and our "rights" are an illusion. People *are* that stupid...they really are...and not to pick on Americans as uniquely stupid, but it seems to be true...so it is a waste of life to "defend" rights that nobody cares about or understands, and will soon forget existed. This is good...it eliminates the need for war.

Perhaps God sent a message, more than likely not. But in the end, Casey will be judged by the one who knows for sure whether or not she is guilty of murder. She is obviously guilty of not caring for her child. Had the Prosecution added the charge of Child Neglect, I believe Casey would be in prison for the maximum sentence of that charge. That was the prosecution's biggest mistake.

People, believe in things such as God giving a sign because it gives people something to believe in. Just as our Founding Fathers believed in a nation founded on democracy and for the people UNDER GOD and they created our wonderful nation out of basically nothing. And we are now one of the strONgest nations in the world sure we have flaws. But name me one thing that doesn't beside God himself. My point being when things are bad people need to turn to faith, we always have always will. Regardless of what your Personal faith makes you believe youve turned to it at some point in your life as we all have. This case got national attention because its bigger then just a simple murder, and i honestly believe she's guilty of neglecting her child and murder. But the world was shown this because it shed light that these horrific things do happen. And we can and should fight against it. Be the voive for those who can not speak up for themselves. Everything happens for a reason. And out of faith rises greatneas

It's obvious Casey or her parents wanted precious little Caylee. They shuffled her around like a deck of cards. There was no justice for Caylee. What the jury told America that day was, " It's okay that little Caylee died in vein." I do believe that God sends signs. The tree being struck by lightening was a small warning to Casey, her parents, the defense attorneys & the jury. There really is only one judge who knows all. I'll pray for all of your souls. Nancy Grace, YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im sorry- where is Caylees fair trial? did she have any say in how she died, or how she was put to rest, or how her "MOTHER" behaved for a month afterwards? yeah, i know we have a legal system, and I have seen it protect everyone but the victim-but to claim that once again someone other than casey is responsable for what she is going through, is insane, the media didnt put her in this position SHE did and its time she take responsability for her actions- damn her to hell!

Sadly, this trial became "Save Casey" trial instead of getting Caylee's justice she so deserved! Caylee was the innocent victim here but the defense team and the Anthonys especially with her lies and drama scenes were for Casey.

The defense team, Anthony family, and the jury didn't fight for Caylee's justice. The jury were a bunch of morons that came from the most inferior barrel of Pinellas County. They were too lazy..whining after the deliberation...who's fault was it. They just sat there like bumps on logs floating down the stream without even taking notes during the entire trial. When it was time for verdict , they had no notes to refer to refresh their memories!

The jury from Pinellas County is a disgrace to the whole world. They failed miserably to make the fair verdict.
