Syrian security forces fired on protesters in at least three Syrian cities Friday, according to a human rights group, while state media reported that a "terrorist attack" damaged an oil pipeline in a fourth.

Security forces apparently shot at protesters in Homs, Lattakia and Damascus, killing at least one and injuring several, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human rights.

The death was reported in Lattakia, where security forces fired on hundreds of anti-government protesters, the group said. Several more were injured in Homs under similar circumstances, according to the group.

And in the Damascus suburb of Haja Al Aswad, heavy gunfire was heard as demonstrators left Abraham Mosque. In another Damascus neighborhood, security forces dispersed hundreds of protesters chanting anti-government slogans.
