On the Radar: Obama in Iowa, violence in Syria, sweat lodge guru's lawyers in court

President's Midwest tour - On his bus tour's second day in the nation's heartland, President Barack Obama is set to meet with farmers and business owners in Peosta, Iowa, an enclave of about 1,700 people in Dubuque County with a large industrial park and a handful of new businesses. The White House has billed the Midwestern tour as an opportunity for the president to talk about job growth and the effects of national economic policy with people in their own communities. Obama also is scheduled to sit down with CNN's Wolf Blitzer for a one-on-one interview Tuesday.

Syrian coastal city under siege - At least five people were killed Tuesday as more violence erupted in the embattled Syrian city of Latakia, said a resident, who requested anonymity for safety reasons. The regime's military offensive there is among the latest round of clashes in the tense Middle Eastern country. Earlier Turkey and Jordan joined the international call for Syria to halt its violent crackdown on anti-government protesters.

Sweat lodge guru - James Arthur Ray, convicted in the deaths of three participants in an Arizona sweat lodge ceremony, deserves a new trial, his attorneys will argue Tuesday. Ray was found guilty of negligent homicide, but an Arizona jury in June found him not guilty of manslaughter charges. Negligent homicide means a defendant should have known better, while manslaughter suggests that the defendant knew and blatantly disregarded this knowledge. Ray's attorneys will say their client is the victim of prosecutorial misconduct because evidence was not disclosed on time.

There goes Obama swinging through the Midwest to gather votes. There are still a lot of people out there dumb enough to vote for him but I won't. Too many people had to be needlessly slaughtered in his obscene wars proving that he has no feelings for the average man! Anyone that indifferent to human life has no right to be in the Oval Office!!!

God Morgon till allihopa! I'm up "skad-tidigt"as we say in Sweden, which means injury- or pain-early! Good campaigning to the Prez, I'd love to hear about the job growth, too! Good luck to Syrians fighting for their freedom & democracy! Hope is hard to hold on to in the face of people being maimed & killed for change & a bit of justice! My heart goes out to them! The sweat lodge faker who tried to get rich & ended up killing people instead, needs to suck it up & take his western medicine! He should never have dabbled in sacred customs he had no knowledge how to perform & keep customers safe!! Have a fab Tuesday!!

Will somebody please tell Obama to stop using taxpayer money to campaign. The arrogance and disdain for the suffering of the American people knows no bounds.

Clearly Obama is a very dangerous man. The fact he would openly plan to spend $1 billion to get reelected while the average American is suffering shows he is only concerned about getting more time to impose his left-wing agenda on America.

How can we ever trust a man who would spend $1 billion to get reelected to ever have the discipline to get the government's fiscal house in order? We should all be outraged by this campaign plan and it is reason enough for everyone to vote against him.

Obama's CHANGE is taking away our HOPE! Obama is sending America on a downward spiral to economic stagnation.

The Democrats and Obama are trying to destroy the American Dream. The RECKLESS SPENDING, INTRUSIVE REGULATION, and HIGH TAXES are stopping job and economic growth. If we had listened to the Tea Party, our debt would NOT have been downgraded.

We must continue to VOTE THEM OUT!!!

You're wrong about one thing, AngryMobVoter. Barack Obama has a right-wing agenda, not a left-wing one! That's why we're still fighting all these obnoxious wars overseas and throwing more money needlessly at the Pentagon, bankrupting the national treasury! There's nothing "left-wing" about needlessly killing people even if they do live in places like Afghanistan and Pakistan!!!

There is a whloe array of presidential candidates and not any of them any good. I think all the smart and intelligent people that would be good candidates are too intelligent to get into the race because they know there is no way out of the ecconomical mess the country is in.

50 years ago he would have to had sit in the back of it. Now its his!! I still have faith in America. Anybody that hates how the president flies, rides or chooses to spend what leisure time he has is just envious. Seriously, nobody had a problem with presidential logistics until the black guy got to ride Air Force One. It's racism. Scoff if you want. You all know its true. Be honest with yourself. How much did you really hear about how other presidents traveled before Obama? You didn't want him to be American. You didn't want him telling your kids to stay in school. If he proposes anything the response is always negative. Keep on truckin Mr. President. When they hate on you this much...you are doing something right!!

What is even more revolting Lyndsie, is the reality that too many Americans are blind to see this or just don't care. What a shame.
