U.N. bombing suspect tied to al Qaeda, Nigerians say

Nigerian authorities said Wednesday that a man with ties to al Qaeda plotted last  week's car bombing at the United Nations' headquarters in the Nigerian capital that killed 23 people.

The Nigerian State Security Service said Mamman Nur recently returned from Somalia and was "working in concert" with two other suspects who have been arrested. The militant Somali group Al-Shabaab has been linked to al Qaeda.
The secret service described Nur as a "notorious Boko Haram element." Boko Haram, a militant Islamic group, aims to enforce a strict version of Islamic law in Nigeria.

The militant group had claimed responsibility for the attack in which a Honda packed with explosives rammed into the U.N. building, shattering windows and setting the place afire.

One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter, according to where you currently reside. Most of the world views the United Staes and Israel as the ones standing in the way of peace. You all better hope that the entire world never becomes a democracy.

@Ywgwie. Actually, foreign nations plunder Africa, a continent rich in natural resources like oil and diamonds. Do you not find it strange that while Africa is starved, those burning Africa's oil and wearing Africa's diamonds are in the midst of an obesity epidemic? Even our kids are fat now. You go on now and get a clue.

Imagine how fit and trim most everyone would be if the worlds food were to be evenly distributed. But it's not. The US consumes about 20% of the world's food, but only accounts for 4% of the worlds population. Yes, there is evidence that suggests that obesity is linked to food. The USA would be limited to 4% of the worlds resources if the world were a true democracy where all men are equal. Let's hope that day never comes?
