Obama: Jobs bill must pass to protect U.S. economy

President Barack Obama urged Congress to act on his jobs plan Thursday, saying it was needed to protect the United States from another economic downturn.

Economic problems in Europe could have a "very real effect" on the U.S. economy, Obama said at a White House news conference.

Any senator who is "thinking of voting" against the jobs bill next week "needs to explain" why he or she would oppose something that would help U.S. families and businesses, he added.

People of the United States of America and President Obama,
Mr.Presiident,You need to ask your Majority Leader Senator Reid why he did not let your Jobs Bill come to the Senate Floor for a Vote the other day.It seems the two of you are not on the same page and Senator Reid is running the show and not you.It is not the Republicans stopping the Vote it is the Democrats!

Oh come on now, does anyone in their right mind believe the NEO-FASCIST right-wing GOP / Tea Party extremists are really going to pass President Obama's job bill?? I think NOT !! No, in fact, I think the only thing these NEO-FASCISTS GOP / Tea Party extremists are good for is to sell out our nation and continue shipping jobs overseas, while their supporters continue to stand in the unemployment lines.

Oh, come on now, does anyone in their right mind think that another half-trillion in wasted tax dollars will do anything more to create jobs than the first $840 billion did? How's that Hope and Change workin' our for ya?

$450,000,000,000.00 to create 1,200,000 jobs equals $375,000.00 per job. But then it is only tax money.

Only in the mind of Obama and his zombie-like followers does this next Stimulus Bill create anything but debt. And his little hunchback man-servant Reid claims that over the next 10 years, and only for the next 10 years, will they hope to milk the wealthy for the half-trillion used today to bail out more public sector workers.

Might as well spend money on US Government Soup Kitchens, if this is the only plan our Dear Leader can muster.

Do the republicans really stand for anything? As long as i remember, they've been hijacked by someone. It was the religious right, now the tea party. Will they ever speak for themselves?

I am all for helping the poor and helpless.God knows I have seen enough of it in my travels.Social Programs need to be run Cost Efficent and work without wasting taxpayer dollars because everyone works hard for their money today.

Obama in the Bull buisness. Either selling BS or believes his own lies. Waa Waa. I'll take this to the public. Good, good Congress. This plan is paid for? How, by billing our kids and grandchildren/? I know his not paying for it out of his oun pocket or pulling it out of his A**; (Air) time. And the same air time needs to be given to Congress. On all channels. His spending spree is over. Facts are facts, trillions bought him what? Banks, Auto industries? Why is the Government involved in free enterprise? GM built a new plant in China to import the Volt to the US. China now employess how many thousand? Who shut down NASA's Shutle program and laid off 13 thousand employees. He's really doing a great job of creating US jobs . Right! Wall Street handles shares and the worth of Companies. They don't control jobs, they don't hire and fire. They collect money for investing on strong Companies that will give them healty returns. If your an investor. Or have money to gamble with. Barry Obama will sell the US beach front property in the Everglades, if your willing to allow him to have it his way. His trillions in stimulas has what results? Enough is enough.

What more does Obama have to do??? He is standing in front of the world begging someone to please help him move the jobs bill. All the republicans do is make a game out of what is a serious problem that needs immediate attention. I am so fed up with people acting like Obama created this mess. The spending started years ago and when our country was tanking the only quick fix was to throw money at it....the republicans wanted to let our nation sink at that time...Please support the Jobs Bill and Tax Increases for Millionaires. The jobs bills is for the people, probably people without a computer to write on this blog!! Taxing those with income over a million is something that should have been in place all along. If you have that much money, why wouldn't you want to help our country? If I had it, I would.

For Obama to win the public support he needs to spell out just exactlly how spending more money is going to create jobs! There will be no more jobs in this country untill they bring them back home–unless there is another catastrophe like Irene. Irene created more jobs tha Obama ever has, but they, unfortunalety are short termed. Obama can only create a few jobs related to the government–not jobs in the private sector where we need them. That is why we need to have the jobs come home. By the way, that nice new cutter the Coast Guard has that the government bragged about; how much of it was built with foreign products? Products that could have, should have been produced in the U.S.
