"How can an entire lineup of candidates start at point zero and continue to dig themselves into a hole? They need to call in the anomaly scientists on this one."–JustTruth1
An 'oops' that could mean 'over' for Perry
Responding to a question about working across the aisle with Democrats, Texas Gov. Rick Perry introduced his own agenda - cutting three federal agencies - and then blanked out on the third. Debate expert Todd Graham says his gaffe will do major damage to his presidential bid, reinforcing earlier bad impressions. Most CNN.com readers said the gaffe was less important than his policies.
thadea said "His policies, not his 'oops moment,' should have been his ruination." barbie1311 said, "I totally agree. I would never judge him based on that alone." TheRealist20 said, "Keeping this ignoramus out of the presidency is what really matters."
bardfast said, "Sorry Rick, but it’s not your 'oops' that has sunk you. You deny evolution. We deny your bid for the White House."
tmch4006 said, "I will vote for Obama, regardless of the GOP candidate that is selected. However, I do feel bad for Perry. I've had my moments where something I know very well slips beyond my ability to speak about. It simply means I've had a temporary brain fart. I always recover and hate the idea that people would think I'm dumb because of it. I doubt Perry is dumb ... ignorant, perhaps."
sunpacific said, "That the fifth candidate is goofy is not big news. The big news is that Republicans were actually rushing to anoint this goofball to the presidency before they even knew him. The biggest news is how scary the teapublican lack of judgment truly is."
jkota11 said, "This may be the most pathetic lineup of candidates in U.S. history." markmaximus said, "Huntsman, very smart and nuanced, speaks Mandarin Chinese! What is he doing with these clowns?"
captcorajus said, "One would think that the Republicans had a fairly easy election win considering how the economy is still tanking. A sour economy is frequently the death knell for an incumbent president, yet, this group of right-wing extremists - and dare I say, DUMB candidates - is agonizing to watch."
DzickDzock said, "He should have stuck with his thoughts on skipping the rest of the debates. At least then people would be left to guess what he's made of. Now, he's erased all doubt."
bstnfeeparty said, " 'I would ... I would do away with the education.' LMFAO, that is, I would laugh if it were not so painfully true, and sad." barbie1311 said, "In his defense, one has to remember that these guys live mostly in Jesus land, where it doesn't matter what you know, but what you believe."
newstradomus said, "OK, so Perry is pretty much finished, Cain isn't going to survive the primaries, and the tea party hates Romney; it's looking better for Ron Paul!" chrissl said, "Paul appeals to the same 10%, no matter what. Now and forever."
VinceK said, "From your lips to God's ears: 'I would love for Paul to be the nominee!
Love,
Democrats' "

The best word i have read here today "TEAPUBLICANS" !!! so true and apt.
This has to be the scariest bunch of candidates ever! Not one is qualified to be POTUS. The Republican Party is already an embarrassment, there just waiting to pick the head Dunce!
I really agree. Huntsman really is the most sane of the bunch.
Your right Bill they should and probably will do a skit on this debacle of a debate. I heard Perry also is planning to go on the Daily Show. Wow. The Daily Show. Interesting.
Bush and Perry. Texas. Wow.
I agree this man's policy's should have been his down fall but this is just icing on the cake. Also I watched him stumble with this and he not only forgot the third agency he had to be fed the second one. Stick a fork in it, it's done.
The big mystery to me is how the Republicans , who have demonstrated for all to see that they care not one iota for the common man , are still a viable political party. When an impoverished state like Mississippi remains a Republican stronghold there is something beyond simple logic at play here. Anyone care to enlighten me about what's going on?
Religion is not logical. They do what the pastor says.
they have them brainwashed with issues like gay marriage and abortion.
Canuck, I so agree with you. I think it is just a lot of $$$ poured into elections and a lot of people watching bias tv (faux news) and not making the effort to find the facts for themselves. Sad.
Not only that, but by using the boogey man of "gay rights, gay marriage, and abortion" and other social issues continue to convince the "common man" that they have his best interest at hand.
Re: Huntsman: Intelligent, thoughtful, erudite, educated, a true professional. In other words, the exact opposite of what the Tea Party wants. THAT's why he's last in the polling.
Re: Perry: When is he going to get a job offer from the NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME PLAYERS??? He sure deserves one.
you are soooo right! that's why he is not high in the polls...they can't handle his level of intelligence... God help us..
They made a movie called "the Crazies", thought it was about the current crop of repubican loons (sans Mitt Romney). Seemed like a plausible tiltle for a movie for right-wing craziness. Watch it and compare. Sick in the head people exposed to toxins. Or political doofus's exposed by right wing ideology.
The GOP party is embarrassing their legacy. First it was Sarah Palin, Donald Trump, Tea Party now these ridiculous candidates. I agree with previous posters that Huntsman is the only one with sense.
This guy wants to get rid of the Dept of Education? Hey Rick: better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and REMOVE ALL DOUBT.
Another STUPID Texas governor is exactly what America needs. Last time I checked we are still trying to recover from the first one.
This group of Republican candidates make Sarah Palin look like a rhodes scholar.
To RALPH: Oh, say it ain't so, Joe! ha ha ha ha Rick Perry has enough brains to go on The Daily Show??? I would PAY to watch THAT performance!!!! Jon Stewart would chew him up and spit him out!!!!! I hope Ralph knows what he is talking about, but I doubt any Republican candidate has the nerve to go on THAT show! ha ha What a joy that would be!!!! Yum, Yum.......
Scary to think any of these people could be president.
