U.S. wants drone back from Iran, Obama says

President Barack Obama said Monday that the United States has asked Iran to return a U.S. drone aircraft that Iran claims it recently brought down in Iranian territory.

"We've asked for it back. We'll see how the Iranians respond," Obama said in a news conference.

The president's comments come one day after it was reported that an Iranian official said the country would not return the drone.

"No nation welcomes other countries' spy drones in its territory, and no one sends back the spying equipment and its information back to the country of origin," said Gen. Hossein Salami, deputy commander of the Armed Forces, according to the semi-official Fars news agency.

"It makes no difference where this drone originated and which group or country sent it to invade our air space," Salami said. "This was an act of invasion and belligerence."

lol the US wants the drone back. So you go and spy on them, get caught and now you want your toy back? The guy above talking about kicking a ball into your neighbours yard deliberately was right.

We have to exhaust diplomatic options before even considering force, but opening with this ineffectual a gesture shows so little serious intent at diplomacy that it could be read as a threat.

Ok so this statement by our so called leader to Iran to get the drone back... Hmmmmm yeah like that will ever happen, and to add note to some of the other statements about this Drone. It's called a Unmanned Air Plane but once again tomatoes tamatoes. I work with These Planes as far as my understanding there is NO self destruct device on the plane. There are a lot of reason these planes lose LINK in the sky and variables that play along with that. I can assure you that the stories that are being said that IRAN hacked into the aircraft are false there not smart enough for one thing and it's next to impossible to perform that task. The pilots that operate these aircrafts if something was to happen have specific orders to destroy the aircraft and that is just dive bomb the aircraft in a remote location. But if LINK was lost the plane should of returned to it's home location as programed because ENGINEERS have thought about this.

how can you be a judge of intelligence when you can't even make a post that is either grammatically or puncuationally correct?

Shahin, destruction is a fix. Especially when the problem involves Iran.

'Destruction is a fix'. That is the exact reason that the USA is in the deep hole it is in today. Wake up! The USA cannot afford the wars it is fighting now. Where do you think the money will come from? Your country is broke. Why do you think most of the world has such strong dislike for the USA and its values (or lack of). Its the arrogance that you are always right and if anyone disagrees lets go to war. Change is coming. Eventually the US is going to push the wrong countries and they are going to push back. We will all suffer the consequences.

THIS is America pushing back. How quickly you forget that we were attacked first. So yeah, a country that has publicly pronounced ill intentions for us building nuclear facilities, hiding them from the UN and now has a sensitive piece of US technology. (whether our fault or not) yeah, if it's that important, crush 'em. I would rather drones be flying over Iran than over the US. Sorry, maybe I'm a little closed minded, you gotta be in my business. I'll choose them living in fear of us over them having something to harm Americans with anyday.

If you threw a brick through someone's window, would you knock on their front door and for your brick back?

With posession being 9 tenths of the law, we're standing back to see what the Iranians will do?
They'll probably re-program it to fly over the white house, so the Iranians can watch Obama brush his teeth in the morning.

It is time to wipe out Islam from this earth once and for all. Only then there will be peace. Probably the USA will have to wait for the next president. Obviously, this 'new god' Obama, the first balck Muslim presdent of the USA, has not done anything properly in the world for the last 3 years. And his failing policy against Iran and its nuclear ambitions only reveals he is a pathetic weakling, afraid of Islam, as are almost all "leaders" (pughhh) in Western Europe. Fear will bring you nothing againsty Islam.

Lets see. We have known about this craft since 2009. Thats 3 years. The U2 was expected to only last 4 years, but still flies. the RS71 also had a 4 year life span. Ok, hows that for stealth.
If they let us see this thing, what have they got in the side lines?
Hehehe. Now thats got to be some neat stuff!
