Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney has scored the endorsement of Bob Dole, who lauded the former Massachusetts governor in an ad Sunday in Iowa's The Des Moines Register newspaper.
The public endorsement comes one day after the Register - Iowa's largest newspaper - backed Romney in his bid for the Republican presidential nomination and just over two weeks before Iowa's critical presidential caucuses on January 3.
In his advertisement, Dole said Romney is the GOP candidate is best suited to defeat President Barack Obama in 2012.
"I've known Mitt and his family for decades. His parents instilled in him a strong work ethic, rock-solid conservative values, and a deep sense of service to others," the former Kansas senator and 1996 GOP presidential nominee wrote. "These traits - which have shone through in both the debates and in my own visits with him - will serve him well in the White House."

And i gotta say Fl ur pineapple head statement is spot on roflmao! If this is the best the repugnants can come up with Obama has absolutely no worries!
What amazes me even more is why is it big news that Bob Dole is backing this foolio? I presume Bob Dole thought he could win in 96 & ya see how productive that thought was! Im thinkin at his age then & l5 yrs older hes not exactly at the top of his game
Romney – of course – is a lot better than the old "catholic" adulterer. (Not that the catholics have any justification to point
fingers at anybody for anything!).
The real problem, like somebody wrote yesterday, is that Romney is nothing but the prototypical north-east manager,
who has learnt to cut up assets, fire people, outsource production and save or make more money for a bunch of old-
fashioned capitalists. That is the reason he says he understands the economy. He has not got the first idea about what
an underpriviledged family's real problems are. And he never will. That of course – is not his fault. He is a decent and
relatively honest man. And totally unfit to be President. He was just brought up that way.
We need class, style, creative brains, imagination, real feelings for all people.
The GOP was never designed to bring up people like that.
I agree totally with Sorenson's assessment.
The only reason Mitt understands the economy from the private sector's standpoint is because he helped decimate it.
Not exactly a resounding endorsement for the man.
And neither is Bob Dole.
I can't help it...everytime I see Dole's name I think of Norm MacDonald from SNL doing him..."Bob Dole doesn't like that!"
Always in third person talk...lmao!
Dole should know about "rock solid," especially after all those viagra ads; the article should open, from Dick to Mitt, Republican tails...
omg @ rudy, thats freakin hilarious! you rock!
That's ALL Mitt is going to win...
