The Chinese government's announcement that it plans to make the database available next year comes amid reports last week that hackers gained access to the personal information of 6 million users of the China Software Developer Network, the state-run Xinhua news agency reported Saturday.

The hacking triggered widespread panic in China, and some Chinese citizens raised questions about the safety of the anticipated marriage database, Xinhua said.

Merry Christmas to Chairman Mao, who clearly said in the Little Red Book that it takes all five fingers of the hand to play the piano.
One finger cannot play alone, so why should any individual have privacy?

The state was not involve in marriage and licenses was not always required...those are recent impositions largely for prohibited purposes to enforce who could not married and for registration (records purposes) marriage in itself is not a civic act...not state sanctioned act,

The sins of society are directly related to the magnitude of scorn, rejection, and abuses directed at the sancity, reverence, and life of marriage. For marriage is the cornerstone of humanity.

It is abuse of jurisprudence for any religion or any government to tell somebody what to do with their body and who they should marry, just so the anti-gay and the anti-abortionists can feel better about themselves.

We've been doing this for about 20 years. Marriage, divorces, deaths, births etc are all available from online databases. We in America have given up on privacy issues for a long time!
