Activist: Syrian army uses human shields on tanks

Syrian government forces are using detained civilians as human shields, placing them on tanks in the besieged city of Homs to prevent the opposition Free Syrian Army from fighting back, an opposition activist said.

The latest tactic came as shelling rained on city's Baba Amr neighborhood once again Sunday, residents say, marking at least the eighth straight day President Bashar al-Assad's troops have pummeled Homs in an attempt to wipe out the opposition.

"My house is dancing. I am almost dead because of the siege," said the opposition activist, named Omar.

Sooner or later these people are going to get caught with and assad is going down by the hands of his own, hey ASSAD, remember khadafi? Well your in the same boat as him there is to be no trial for you in this life, but in the life here after! His people will tear him apart in the streets. First have him view the carnage that he brought his people and than dig some graves and then execute him striped of his clothes! Tyrants only last so long, and than they fall hard.

@tully: power. it's all about power. he knows after all he's done, there's no 'ex-president' speaking engagements, no retiring to the country.. if assad loses power, he's dead.

he's never known anything but ruling. he grew up in the tyrant's palace, learning how to oppress his people, the people he's quite brainwashed to believe 'need' him.

it really isn't assad's fault. he doesn't know any better.

This Assad guy is a psychopath. If this psycho is held up in his government compound, how long can he and his people live there? I mean how are they getting food and other things? Do they have water and sewage working or? It seems that they don't have any problems getting weapons though.

al-Assad wants to tie unarmed citizens to tanks as human shields eh? Tie him off to a scud missile and give him the ride of his life...probably the last one too.

Israel does the same thing. Also, look at the Islamist who took over in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya etc and the US helped those people. How come they don't recognize the government in Gaza, it was democratically elected?
