A massive plume of thick, black smoke billowed from the Syrian city of Homs on Wednesday, punctuating the chaos that has plagued the opposition stronghold for months.
According to the Local Coordination Committees of Syria, an opposition activist group, government war planes flew over Homs and blew up an oil pipeline.
The Syrian government did not immediately issue a statement on the situation in Homs.
Meanwhile, after repeated U.N. failures to formally denounce the Syrian regime, the latest U.N. draft resolution condemning Syria could be voted on in the General Assembly as early as Wednesday.

Keep breathing in that propaganda. RON PAUL 2012
It began as a simple call for political reforms and basic freedoms. Regime change was not even on the cards and protesters were peaceful. Then "mistakes" were made according to Bashar al-Assad. Things have degenerated into the sickening bloodbath that we see today because instead of dialogue he thought mistakenly and following bad advice he could bomb the opposition into silence and life would get back to how is was. It worked in China, it worked in Russia so why not in Syria. Well too much blood has been shed for him to turn back and Syrian's have had enough and the world can't put up with a leader who instead of listening to his own people if massacres them. He would be at home with the likes of Hitler and other mass murderers. So China and Russia please think again about your support for this murderous regime.
you have to have nukes to get away with killing your own people
Its ridiculous , what this government is doing .i have never seen this as propaganda. These people are so desperate . And risk their lifes to discuss such things how could it not be true if someone could prove to me that these things are not happening than go for it but i for one just cant stand to see people suffer like these people are this madness has got to be stoped
"...thick, black smoke..." from an explosion?
That's strange. The cardinals always send up white smoke when a Pope is elected.
