TV anchor gives interview after on-air dog bite

A Denver news anchor is speaking out for the first time after being severely injured when a dog bit her on the face during a TV interview.  Earlier this month, Kyle Dyer was interviewing the owner of an 85-pound Argentine Mastiff who was rescued from icy waters. While petting the dog’s face, Dyer leaned in to kiss his nose when the dog lurched forward and bit her face.

Dyer was taken to Denver Health Medical Center where, after four hours of surgery, she received 70 stitches to her lips and nose. She later posted on Facebook that her mouth was stitched shut in order for the skin graft to take.

She is out of the hospital and recently sat down for an interview to discuss the accident and resulting surgery. Dyer is happy that the dog is back with his owners and is pleased to be recovering and moving forward with life. Listen to her describe the bite and the moment she realized she had no upper lip.

These comment forums come across like a group of high schoolers bashing each other. It's just a lot of silly stuff having little to do with the real topic.

All the comment sections on all news sites look like that. It's a sad window into the true state of the world.

These comment sections are the worst thing for news sites. Little substance and a lot of anger and bashing. Never anything substantial said here, other than hate and idiotic banter. I wish they would do away with them.

Personally, I don't think animals should be domesticated. Mankind did animals no favor by making them dependent slave species. Animals belong in the wild. They do just fine by themselves in the wild. They don't belong in homes and on TV.

  3. The owner should've killed that EVIL DOG!!!

The owner would be happier to live without EVIL DOG. You have sick society telling owner "KEEP THE EVIL DOG!!!"

If he sells "EVIL DOG" and owns different friendly dog. The owner would be happier.

You are wrong. I bet you are one of those who has never been out of the house, never made a mistake, never been humbled by any life changing event, any horror or maybe youve been bit by a dog? Think about that dogs place in the scheme of life. This world is run by human beings who have been destroying lives of all kinds for a long time. You have some searching to do man.

Are you serious? "Kill evil dog", The dog obviously felt threatened and reacted the only way it knew how. If anyone is to blame its the producers, owner and cop for not educating the news anchor on how to approach this breed of dog. YOU should be killed for your naive comment and throwing around the idea of killing an innocent animal. And you could learn something from the news anchors humble and forgiving reaction.

This reporter called it an "accident," but the funny thing about accidents is that they're preventable. Of course the dog bit her; it didn't know her, it was in an environment to which is was not accustomed, and she was stupid. Any sensible person who knows dogs knows that you never stick your face near the dog's; it's a sign of confrontation, and the dog will react accordingly by showing its dominance in an aggressive fashion just as any human or animal would. The dog was acting naturally; the human was acting stupidly. Plain and simple.

Thats strange that you say that cause the owner who should know more about the dog than anyone never says anything the whole time about what the anchor women was doing so the owner failed case closed now all you idiots can shut up.

I was thinking the same thing. No matter what kind of animal it is you should never ever put your face up to it, if it doesn't know you really well!

The dog isnt evil. Do you realize how much pain is out there in the world. Lots of pain. You think you have the right to kill another being, to take its life away because it injured someone. You have no idea what you are talking about. It worries me sometimes that people that think like you are even around.

Dog bite her and had million views on youtube. Kyle Dyer face looks messed up. Hospital bill shoots up.
The owner is going to have long term bad memory.

You have selfish society telling him "KEEP THE EVIL DOG... Argentine Mastiff is not dangerous and evil dog!"
Yeah right. There's other friendly dog who wanted to be with owner. It could be husky, Siberian Husky, golden retriever, beagle, etc

"KEEP THE EVIL DOG !!!" in your dream people. He's driving red truck. He needs a nice dog.

The dog should have picked up on the fact that the woman was not a threat. After all the humans that owned the dog were getting along with the woman. If it doesn't have any better domestic instincts than that it should be not allowed in public. And I only say that because it was big enough to do real damage. Chihuahuas don't count.

Man you dumb people need to learn how to act around animals or STAY AWAY FROM THEM!! She is moving in erratically and in a broken pace. That is going to confuse and scare the dog because it thinks she has an alterior motive for coming in, so oddly..

PS: NEVER kiss a dog on the face that is not your own dog. EVER... You can't just assume it's going to love you like it loves the owner. Would you kiss the children of a family you just met 10 minutes ago? Let the dog become familiar with you before you get face to face with it. This was just dumb and the producers should of never allowed her to do this. you people will never learn will you...

Yeah, like being alive and breeding. David, do yourself a favor now and retreat from the gene pool without taking anyone with you.
