Andrew Breitbart, well-known conservative blogger, dead at 43

Andrew Breitbart, a well-known conservative blogger, has died, his attorney confirmed Thursday. He was 43.

Breitbart was also known as a pundit on conservative television shows and got his start helping to run the original right-wing online media behemoth, the Drudge Report, then started his own website.

Breitbart was the first to post the infamous Twitter photos of U.S. Rep Anthony Weiner last year, in which the congressman appeared barechested and in his underpants. Weiner eventually stepped down amid the scandal.

An In Memoriam post on his website breitbart.tv said that it was with a "terrible feeling of pain and loss" that they announces his death.

"Andrew passed away unexpectedly from natural causes shortly after midnight this morning in Los Angeles," the post said. "We have lost a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a dear friend, a patriot and a happy warrior. Andrew lived boldly, so that we more timid souls would dare to live freely and fully, and fight for the fragile liberty he showed us how to love."

According to the post, in a new conclusion to one of his books, he wrote about how much he loved his job and fighting for what he believed in.

Andrew recently wrote a new conclusion to his book, Righteous Indignation:

"Andrew is at rest, yet the happy warrior lives on, in each of us," the post stated.

The lack of respect for a human life I see in these comments is disgusting. You don't have to agree with his views, that's fine, just do not praise the death of this man. Well, after all, most people on here have a genuine lack of respect for life to begin with because they're probably pro-choice. Sad. Criticize this comment all you want, I don't care and I won't respond.

hahaha. I'm sure you have respect for human lives in Iraq, Afghanistan, Sudan, Syria, Somalia etc. right? You're a joke. You only give him your fake compassion because he was a conservative white american.

First Whitney, now Breitbart. 2 strikes against the old adage that only the good die young.

He probably OD'd on prescription drugs while naked with a man in a bathroom stall. It's tragic his kids have to grow up without a father, but I doubt he would have been a good influence anyways.

Andrew Breitbart was a hero! He brought the ugly truth about this administration and its liberal posse into the light, while the mainstream media tried to bury the truth to protect their anointed and severely flawed Obama. It's too bad he didn't get to see Obama get skinned and quartered this November. THERE WILL be someone to take his place and carry that mantle now that Mr. Breitbart has passed on. So, all you liberals beware!

When someone this pathetic dies, it's hard to find a good word to say but peace to his family.

"Keep your venom to yourselves" was not a quality that Breitbart practiced.

I hope you would all say the exact same horrible things about the disgusting leftists at Daily Kos if they died. They lie and spread falsehoods all over the place, and demonize half of America for their thought processes.

Sorry for his family and friends, if he had any, and no one wishes death on someone else. However, he was a piece of garbage.

That is sad, although he did not like blacks. I'd rather him live his full life. Condolences to his loved ones!

It is a shame and it is sad that we are only remembered for our scandals and not our passions. Andrew Breitbart has forever linked his memory with his part in the Shirley Sherrod scandal he caused. A scandal that was less than a week in the news out of his 43 years on this earth. And that is a shame. Rest in peace

You are wrong, Antwoine. Andrew did not cause the Shirley scandal. The overreaction of her superiors caused the scandal. Andrew's point was that the NAACP audience proved themselves to be racists in their honest reaction to her speech. However, Andrew's video clip showed Shirley saying that she eventually realized she was wrong to feel the way she did toward the white farmers. Andrew's own post proves him to be right and he continued to defend himself. It was Glenn Beck who distorted Andrew's post. I don't think Andrew ever forgave Glenn for that. Stop listening to the half-truths.

That's really a revisionist way of looking at this. Its not really a point of view I share. But that is exatly what I am taking away from the life of Andrew Breitbart..... He lived his life on half-truths and and his point of view.... But I digress... A man is dead at 43....... 43.

I didn't take him seriously enough to hate him but it was very obviously was a horrible person he was. He was always raging, it's no wonder he died.
