A month ago Monday, Trayvon Martin, an unarmed Florida teen, died at the hands of a neighborhood watch volunteer, stirring outrage and protests nationwide.
The African-American teen was fatally shot on February 26 as he walked to his father's fiancée's house in Sanford after a trip to a convenience store. Neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman told police he shot the teen in self defense, and he has not been charged.
The 17-year-old's death fueled calls for justice nationwide that continue to grow daily. On Monday rallies are planned from coast to coast to pay tribute to Martin or bring attention to the issue. Below is a list of some of the largest planned rallies.

This should have been taken care of by the police department, not a one man "John Wayne" type person.
The thug wannabe should have picked someone unarmed to attack. He got what he deserved. Now someone needs to do something about all those "black panthers" thugs.
You said the thug wannabe got what he deserved? I will like to ask you the same question I asked the previous person. Can you please share with the country your video footage of what actually happened the night of the shooting? So Zimmerman said the kid punched him but did he say what he said or did to the kid to illicit the kid's response? So I guess every time an unarmed black person in America gets murdered, its their fault? And I guess the young black male who got ran over by those white supremacist thugs in Mississippi a year ago cause his death too?
How do all these people have time to rally during what would normally be working hours? Do they even work or are they living off of the backs of the people that do?
No, these people aren't rallying off the backs of people who work. The democracy that we all enjoyed today was established simply because ordinary Americans like these people took time out from work to rally for racial justice and equality. particularly for the rights of African-Americans and other minorities and women to have the right to vote, to get equal pay and to be able to ride on the same bus and drink from the same water fountain! Its the kinds of civil justice African-Americans earned after enslaving for four-hundred years helping to build the American south! So to answer your question, no these people aren't rallying off the backs of people like you but doing so on their own free time.
Everyone says Zimmerman continued to pursue after told not to by the dispatcher. Zimmerman said "OK" after that. Where is the information coming from that he continued to pursue after that? The media has been pumping out so much false information, I'm starting to wonder if I was tricked into thinking he continued pursuing.
Where's the information coming from that Zimmerman persued the kid? Perhaps you didn't read the police transcript released several days ago. That transcript recorded a conversation Martin was having with his girlfriend on his cell phone up to the monent he was shot. And in that transcript, the kid was heard asking Zimmerman "why are you following me." And that was the kid's last words and no verbal response from Zimmerman attempting to asnwer the kid's question to defuse any misunderstanding. Furthermore, the transcript has nothing to support Zimmerman's responding to answer the kid's question simply because it appears that after Zimmerman perhaps shove the kid, his air peace fell out! let's face it, Zimmerman was the stalker and the persuer so how is it self defense?
Still waiting for any evidence showing Zimmerman continued to pursue Martin after he was told to stop! Don't look like it exists.
I just posted the answer to your question above!
And by the way, if Zimmerman didn't follow and confront the kid, then how was he allegedly punched by the kid? Or are you that ignorant and stupid?
go home,he's dead.
why don't you go back to Fox News – Unfair and Unbalanced?
Dont start a fight with a man with a gun
The object of these rallies is to repeal laws that allow citizens to legally defend themselves against robbers, home invaders, copper thieves, carjackers, etc. In other words, we are to be rendered defenseless victims of criminal thuggery. What an age we live in!
@mike: if i killed someone in self defense, i would be eager to prove it in court, just to get it over with. never in my wildest dreams would i expect no trial.
The mainstream media are filthy, rotten liars and murderers. Why would the public believe anything you say, CNN? You are trying to turn this into a race war. It is obvious what you are doing. TM was banging Zimmerman's head against concrete, it is a wonder he is not a drooling vegetable. He shot TM in self-defense, case closed. Sorry, but this country does not exist to coddle and glorify black people.
I asked two persons earlier and I'll ask you too. Can you please provide the country with your videotape footage of Trayvon banging Zimmerman's head to the ground? Perhaps you people are missing the real point and the real point is not just the shooting itself but the fact that the police refused to do an investigation and subsequently closed the case after rendering Zimmerman's shooting a proven selfe defense case. So how can the police prove it was indeed self defense if they didn't do an investigation? let's face it, the racism charge is not just against Zimmerman but also against the police who refused to do an investigation. Is an investigation too much to ask for? After all, law enforcement is the job and responsibility of the police and that also involves investigation crimes and finding closure. But unfortunately this racist precinct refused to do its job. An what if the victim was white and the shooter was black? Do you believe for one minute that the police would have come out and said ok case close, no investigation because the shooter said it was selfe defense? I doubt it!
Trayvon's past has nothing to do with the facts of this case! However, as for those black thugs who killed the white person in MS, they all should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Any crime is bad regardless of what the victim looks like. But as I stated before, all the outrage over this case escalated simply because the FL authorities refused to do an investigation and accepted Zimmerman's claim of selfe defense and subsequently closed the case. Was it too much for the authorities to do an investigation without publicly stating that the case was closed because it was selfe defense? let's face it, FL authorities blew it!
i want to know what the police are going to do with the bounty that the black panthers put on his head. Oh wait nothing........ if it was the KKK then it would be a different story. Zimmerman is already done fore even if (and will be) found not guilty. He will have to look over his shoulder the rest of his life because of stupid media coverage like this. None of the facts about Martin have been talked about and the fact that eye witnesses says they say a hooded person on top of Zimmerman and he had a busted face. No news coverage of the islamic woman getting beaten to death with a note next to her dead body saying go back to your own country, but yet since this kid (or thug, judging by his pictures) is black, it becomes national news. BTW arent we all one race? Isnt it called the human race?
Zimmerman would have to look over his shoulder for the rest of his life? At least he has a life but unfortunately the coward has taken an innocent life.
But there were a string of assaults and robberies in a closed/gated community and a hooded figure walking around staring out houses. I would confront him too. If Trayvon Martin did fire a gun at Zimmerman and killed him, then it would just be the same typical news story you see on the news about a black man shooting some one. Oh and the news would say that Zimmerman was hispanic, not white.
When the 911 operator said stand down....according to zimmermans side of the story...he stood down and started walking away. Trayvon confronted him and said"do you have a problem". Z said "no" then trayvon attacked him and went for his gun. He punched z and beat him up. Z had grass stains on the back of his shirt and it was wet....there is an eye witness to t being on top of z and z was the one calling for help.......get the other side of the story...and get the facts straight. Treyvon was on a ten day suspension and was not the little angel the media first portrayed him to be......he was a teen with behavioral problems....and was far from his school in Miami where he should have been. There are hundreds killed daily and no one gives a darn....this entire story is for ratings....period.
Zimmermans friends say he is far from racist and he and his wife tutor low income black kids on the weekends....
It amazes me how many people jump to hang Zimmerman when the deceased was the problem. He should not have attacked z....he should have just kept walking to his fathers fiancées house.
i guess a trial to get all the facts is too much to ask? a person was killed. if george is innocent, he has nothing to fear. even though, or especially because, trayvon was killed, he deserves his day in court
