U.N. pressures Syria to heed peace plan

Top U.N. officials and the Security Council leaned on the Syrian regime Thursday, urging it to fully carry out a peace plan it promised to heed.

Syria said Thursday that it had taken several steps to comply with a peace plan championed by U.N. envoy Kofi Annan, including the withdrawal of troops from three regions and the expansion of Red Cross humanitarian access.

But more needs to be done, U.N. officials say, with imposing a cease-fire at the top of the agenda.

The UN has become such a useless organization. All it does it spout off about this or that. And a county has to be careful, or the UN will actually condemn it if it steps out of line. Oh, the horror.

And I wonder too, if the UN does condemn a country, does it stay on their permanent record ?

Looking over the dairy products orrpet some products are down from prior years while some are up. For example, Ice cream, regular (hard) 75.5 million gallons, down 3.7 percent. Convert all the products to a milk equivalent (subtract imported ingredients) and then talk about fuzzy math. Is it greater or less than 15.5B lbs? It's up to you to be more responsible with the facts you call facts.

You said this with clear conscience.
I agree with you banasy 100%. Bashar al-Assad is reactionist rather than being pro-active about bringing resolution to the violence he has control of. I've followed this from the beginning, and he acts like a deaf, dumb, and blind man.
Sources are giving me the idea Obama could start placing China in perspective to stay out of thier Syria affairs without going into any altercation.

The only thing that the U.N. And Barrack Obama are doing is adding fuel to the fire. The day is coming when Syria will attack with nuclear weapons. The writing is on the wall. The whole world is going crazy!!!!!!!!

All this bruhaha is not about Syria but about Iran. The meeting in Turkey said it loudly. The House of Saud ( & Israel) lined up firmly with us against increasing influence of Iran in the region, the people of Syria matter the least.
