The suspects in the shootings of five African-Americans in Tulsa, Oklahoma, confessed shortly after their arrest, according to police documents.
Jake England told investigators he shot three of the five victims, while Alvin Watts told police he shot the other two, according to the incident report provided by police.
Authorities accuse the pair of gunning down apparent strangers at four different locations in a largely African-American section of Tulsa early Friday.
They were arrested early Sunday after tips led investigators to England's burned pickup. The vehicle matched one reported at the crime scenes, according to the arrest reports.
Monday, a judge ordered England, 19, and Watts, 33, held on $9.16 million bond each pending formal charges on allegations of murder, shooting with intent to kill and gun possession.

Studies have shown some women think of ironing.
@RUFFNUT Loosen up your wranglers and watch out for your belt buckle.
death penalty or hate crime, they might be in isolation. life, general population
Well, if they confessed...hopefully they'll just bypass a trial.
i think so, or just an appearance to plea guilty. they can appeal the sentence, i think once for life, more for death. i *think*..
@leeintulsa:
I am glad that you understood the point I was trying to make.
I didn't elaborate on my post, which sgould have said:
With any luck, they will plead guilty at their initial hearing and save the taxpayers a boatload of money by having a jury trial.
Of course, they would pound out any plea agreement in advance.
I am just glad they caught them.
Or they could put these hayers in the shu with the rest of the prison snitches, pedophiles, rapists, just so they wont get picked on,,,,,,,,,,i dont hate , but im disgusted in what they have done they deserve the punishment that is handed down
Keir Weimer believes strongly that this story is pregnant with racial, class, and other social overtones, just as the Trayvon Martin case is, and is ripe for the national media establishment's exploitation and sensationalism. These two suspects confessions must hold some value, and almost bring some closure to this case, whereas the Trayvon Martin case is only beginning to unfold.
Keir Weimer hopes the public can withhold judgment until the facts are presented, examined, and then after the appropriate and logical conclusions are drawn from said facts, form its opinion.

Agree
IWe agree with much the Keir Weimer has to say, but does Keir Weimer always refer to himself in the third person?

Confessing to the police that you committed a crime is not the same as entering a guilty plea to a court, at least in the United States this is how it works:
If you walk into a police station and admit to murder, you will be jailed immediately. You will then be given the options to hire a lawyer, have a public defender assigned to your case to represent you or represent yourself.
In some states, actually all that I know of, a grand jury will be convened to determine if there is enough evidence against you to warrant a prosecution or trial. It is possible that the grand just would determine that there is no evidence or not enough to take you to trial. This would happen if they think you're crazy and just admitting to crimes for fame, or there literally is no evidence against you other than your confession (ie no corroborating evidence that you committed the crime you claim to have).
If a grand jury finds that there is enough evidence against you to warrant a prosecution, you will then be arraigned. An arraignment is nothing more than a hearing where the charges against you are formally presented in court you/your attorney will be asked if you understand the charges and wish to enter a plea. The prosecutor may ask for a certain bail or bond to be set, but this is at the judges discretion based on arguments for and against it by the prosecutor and you/your lawyer.
If you enter a plea of guilty at the arraignment, you will not get a trial, unless you change the plea to not guilty later on. If you plead not guilty that begins the process of gearing up for a trial and the eventual trial itself, unless of course you make a deal with the prosecutor.
A deal would be something like instead of 1st degree murder, the charge is dropped to 1st degree manslaughter with the prosecutor asking for a maximum sentence of 25 years in exchange for your plea of guilty to the lesser charge.
Excuses! Excuses! Excuses!
While many may feel sorry for Mr. Alvin Watts loss of his father two years ago, his loss in no way justifies cold blooded murder of totally innocent people who had absolutely nothing to do with his fathers death.
THESE were a premeditated assassinations of targeted African American's in an all black community, motivated by a racist disposition predicated on revenge.
Mr. Watts and his cohort in this heinous hate crime went to bed the previous night with one thing on their minds, murderous revenge, and they awoke that fateful morning with the same mental disposition.
This senseless sadistic act of violent aggression should be dealt with swiftly and decisively. An attack on innocent law abiding tax paying citizens need not be tolerated in any community.
When individuals like Mr. Watts and his criminalized cohort reach the age of accountability, subsequently knowing full well the difference between right and wrong, the difference between good and bad, and conscientiously act with malice, with their mental faculties in order, perpetrate a fiendish crime upon a community of innocent people, should forfeit their existence among those of us who act with responsibility and civility within our communities.
If there was ever a need for the death penalty, it fits this case like a hand in glove. And would prove to be a substantial ally in procuring justice for the surviving family of those slain.

Ok Al and Jesse, if you are real leaders and not just some boneheads who want publicity, head to Baltimore and get the protests going there.
