Panetta: 'No kind of silver bullet' to destroy al Qaeda

Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta said there is no question that the United States is safer with Osama bin Laden, the architect of al Qaeda, dead, though he said there is no way to completely destroy the network.

Panetta's assessment came just days before the one-year anniversary of the U.S. commando raid on bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, that ended a manhunt for the al Qaeda founder that began following the September 11, 2001, terror attacks.

"Having been involved in operations even before bin Laden, it was clear that there is no kind of silver bullet here to suddenly be able to destroy al Qaeda and that includes going after bin Laden," Panetta told reporters Friday after a meeting with defense counterparts in South America.

"The way this works is that the more successful we are in taking down those that represent their spiritual and ideological leadership, the greater our ability to weaken their threat to this country."

The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security last week warned of the possibility of terrorist attacks leading up to and after the anniversary of the May 2, 2011, killing of bin Laden. There is no specific, credible terror threat, the agencies said.

We don't put double dead bolts on our front doors because we are afraid of al qaeda. Get a clue America. Your own government and neighbors scare you more than anything. Al qaeda finds-out you've been collecting military disability entytlement benefits fraudulently. See? That wouldn't scare you.

We seem to be losing it guys. Those incharge do not know which they are going any longer.

Israeli army chief Lt.Gen Gantz in an interview with Haarertz on Israeli Ind.Day said clearly that Iran is not thinking of developing a nuclear weapon and in his opinion will not do so. Today the ex- chief of Shin Bet ( equiv. of our FBI) broke his silence and outrightly said that he doesn't trust the Netanyahu regime on handling Iran. Both Netanyahu & his defence minister will start what he called 'a messianic war' with Iran and should be stopped.
These sentiments have been expressed by the current & ex-Mossad chiefs, our own DOD & top army brass.
And yet Netanyahu's loyalists in our Congress stand with him. And we keep on hearing murmurs of war.

Much of what we know in this country or abroad is beta leaked to us in small increments just because "SOME" of us have never seen the behind the lines actions and terminations of some world leaders does not mean that our people are honest what we hear is part truth and the rest is with held on purpose to avoid panick in our lives if the people of the globe were to get the full truth then the button would of been pushed a long time ago, ive seen the behind the lines activities of our leaders and one thing comes to mind terrorism (in a political way) its simple to understand the words of a few that have never seen such things but but if these people speak with such an educated tongue than why were you not there to stop it? If your so smart then the way you speak would put you i office so do so! Further more you would do the same as our present leaders why? Because you have become a person controlled by those part truths and thus have fallen to your knees begging for more of what you will never hear and you are the fallen one me im the stronger of us two when it comes to the truth because i do not chase it as you do PHILLIP!

Fraudulent Elections Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.

The above fourteen point definition of fascism clearly describes the current state of the United States of America, particularly under the second Bush Administration – a regime awash in corruption, secrecy, theocracy, militarism and election fraud. Never before in the history of this country have the people as a whole been rendered so powerless by a ruling, corporate, elite and gang of "Project For a New Century" imperialists.

@saywhat.Howdy there. :) I just kind of wanted to remind you, than when you are explaining to these people here the actual situation regarding Israel, you are talking to a people who have been conditioned... weekly, daily, hourly, and on-the-spot and in churches to think modern-day Israel and the God that had anything to do with a small pc. of the Americas' becoming independant States eating out of the same bag coming into existance.
Trying to help people see Israel for what she really is, is like standing-up in church and saying "nono no, your preacher has it all wrong" and/or "you are obligated to cry for 6 million Jews. Otherwise, your vote was wasted."-Der and Doh!
