Drone strike kills suspected al Qaeda militants in Yemen

A U.S. drone strike killed seven suspected al Qaeda militants Saturday in the Mareb province of Yemen, part of a continuing air campaign against the terror organization, security officials said.

The drone struck one of three vehicles carrying the suspected militants in the district of Huraib, the officials said. The other two vehicles fled the area unharmed and continued toward the southern Abyan province.

A heavy government presence was at the scene immediately after the attack and residents said thick smoke and flames could be seen from miles away.

Among the dead were three al Qaeda leaders, according to the officials, who called the attack a blow to the al Qaeda network in the country.

The strike occurred nearly a week after a senior operative of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula was killed by a CIA drone strike and less than three weeks after a Yemeni-linked terror plot to bring down a U.S.-bound jetliner was foiled.

note the word suspected. if they turn out to be innocent civilians will the obama administration face charges? thats what they did with soldiers under the bush administration. in removing the soldiers from the equation they must now take the blame.

also hamsta, unless you are planning a move to another country, hes YOUR president too! And no where in this article did it say it was a deliberate act to kill. And as i previously pointed out, had that been the case all 3 vehicles woulda been blown up!

Do we go outside and cheer, dance in the streets, throw confetti in the air, what why or who makes not one lick of difference, just keep killing them and their associates; that's what you get paid to do.

I'm glad the multimillion dollar toys are working ,its about time so we can replace our soldiers with these drones, and there's no suffering to them either, just batteries, the rechargable ones. Now to get immigrants to run em,now that's saving money,Romney style,ya know, outsourcing's not a bad thing ,right!Just make sure ya don't use McCain as a trainer for these pilotless drones,he has a habit of running into his own missile flack and crashing. He's five for five not bad, just costly. What a bummer and ya can't put a return address on it for them to ship it home, drats!!!
