This week, President Obama announced his personal support for same-sex marriage. The endorsement came a day after North Carolina voters passed a constitutional amendment that bans gay marriage in their state.

There are just some things that aren't the business of others....who marries who is definitely one of them!!! I have NO right telling someone else they can't marry the person they love just because they happen to be the same gender....you can't legislate moral conduct!!! It's just an excuse to spread HATE to a group of people who are perceived as different....There are MORE IMPORTANT issues facing this country than what happens in a person's bedroom and the genders of the people involved!!! Wake up and quit sweating the small stuff!!!
@Liberal....I use literal words in the bible to show Gods will because the bible is very literal when it comes to gays.. The bible speaks about what you eat, but Jesus changed that when he told the disciples to go into peoples house and eat what you will. The bible speak about divorce being wrong unless it is do to adultery and it is a sin, but you can be forgiven for it and so can gays if they stop the behavior. We can not change the bible to evolve to our lifestyle. Just what parts of the bible are literal? Yes there is a spirit to the bible and the holy spirit is our guide.
Your bible is not relevant to many people. You cannot make others believe what you believe. You wouldn't want me to force my beliefs on you, would you? So, please, keep your bible and its teachings out of my government.

You use the literal words against all sorts of things, but you don't live by the literal word-or do you need me to quote literal verses and see if this is true?

To be "pro gay marriage" does not mean a desire for gays to marry but simply to keep government from intruding into the personal issues of people and decree discriminatory rules based on some religious dogmas.
If two men can have the Right to marry then it should be my Right to have as many wives as I want, I think three would be fine with me.

Big political plunder... The gay vote was already with the Democrat', so this was just throwing swing votes for no good reason at all. The vast number of positive responders would have already voted with Mr Obama. So now look for an even tighter Presidential Race than there ever should have been.
Ban all government issued marriage licenses and then the government wont be able to discriminate against its citizens.

When i was a child, it was very difficult to find a non believer. Crime was very low. Slept with the front and back door standing open. We have done away with God. Thrown Him in the same basket with all the other gods of myths and fables. Reach in the basket and pick one. They are all the same. We did not teach our children well. We have allowed the non believers to have control of this nation.

There is no such thing as gay marriage!! It is man-made. Marriage can only happen between a man and a woman. It is sickening just to think about it. Obama should repent before the One who originated marrriage.

When I heard president Obama utter the words, that he thought gay people should be able to get married, it stopped me only tracks. My president was saying that I wasn't a second class citizen anymore. If you're straight, you don't quite get why it means so much to us. I admire President Obama so much, for what he's done for the LGBT community.

Tired about hearing passages from the Bible...the same Bible that says you can own slaves...are we really going to believe in a book that we says earth was created in 7 days? I hope people have taken enough biology to understand evolution and not believe some story concocted thousands of years ago...we are talking the quality of lives for millions of Americans...like basic rights.

Actually, the Bible does not state that you can own slaves, the writers of the New Testament were dealing with the Roman world as it was presented to them, and dealing with it the best way that they could. How does "Do unto others as you would have done unto you" mesh with owning people?
