Florida A&M University's Board of Trustees meets Monday to discuss the future of the college's popular marching band in the aftermath of the hazing-related death of a member.
Band director Julian White, who had been with the prestigious band for 40 years, stepped down under pressure last week.
He was placed on paid administrative leave shortly after the hazing death of FAMU Marching 100 drum major Robert Champion in November.
Authorities say Champion, 26, was badly beaten during a hazing incident on a band bus following a football game in Orlando. He died within an hour of the attack.
FULL STORY

Since someone died I would disband the group.
even after 40 years I am surprised it took the director this long to step down.
Execute any who were involved with this murder. Perhaps suspend the executions of those who do not literally have blood on their hands but kept these hazings secret...aka throw them in prison and rehabilitate them into a more civil group.
Keep the band marching at games, but change the band's uniforms permanently, requiring each member to wear a Halloween costume with a white skeleton sewn over black cloth.
Future halftime shows might sell more tickets than the sports events, and proceeds from increased ticket sales could go toward settlement of civil lawsuits arising from this death.
I am more inclined to agree with JIF than either Execute's or Yoalnda's post.
What I fail to see is any band at all hazing a member.
I thought people were more adult than the outmoded concept of hazing to be accepted in any school-related organization.
Keep the band, but get rid of the hazing, which id little more than sanctioned bullying.
Make them stand next to banasy, whose stench makes flies drop right out of the air.
Stlck 'em all on the deck of the new Tltanic II and then sink it with them remaining on board.
P B:
There's goibg to be a sequel?
Bet I know how uit ends.
So both of you women claim this baby is yours? Huh. OK then. If the one of you lying doesn't fess-up, I'm gonna dress the child as a demon baby and make her perform at the halftime freak show.
Solomon's actual decision was to have the baby cut in two and give ea. woman half. The childs true mother then denied the child was hers to save the childs life. Solomon wasn't so stupid so as not to see this, and so he had the liar...what would YOU have done to the lying woman?
Blood was spilled. True Justice calls for blood in return. Now, don't go approving of executing the suspected killer(s) in this case before they have had their day in court. Ok?
Let me tell you something. These bands party like rock stars wherever they go. You should check out the percentage of crack heads and child rapists in these college marching bands. The level of satanic ritual abuse in these bands is astounding. That's what we're talking about here, of course!
@Solomon's Wisdom. The lying woman should be put to death without fail, as should anyone caught trying to steal a baby. (duh)
