Mary Kennedy, from whom Robert F. Kennedy Jr. filed for divorce in 2010, is dead, said an employee of the Westchester County, New York, medical examiner's office on Wednesday.
The employee, who declined to give his name, told CNN he would provide no further details about the manner and cause of death.
The family released a statement saying, "We deeply regret the death of our beloved sister Mary, whose radiant and creative spirit will be sorely missed by those who loved her. Our heart goes out to her children who she loved without reservation."
The Bedford (New York) Police Department earlier confirmed they were investigating a possible unattended death at 326 South Bedford Road, an address owned by Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Authorities found a deceased individual inside "an out building" on the property, police said in a statement.

It is breaking news because it is a well known family, not because she died. I'm "Bob" when you heard about Carroll Shelby's passing a few days ago you though differently.
The Kennedy family was larger than life for decades and we watched their every move, bad or good. We also only had 3 to 6 channels to watch on tv. There are adults and children that can barely name any presidents before Clinton! Times have changed to what is important and interesting..... I mean, there's Kim, Brittney Spears, the Survivors, Howard Stern.....

This is all pretty pathetic. Mary WHO? She married a Kennedy but is not a Kennedy herself. A woman doinked by a Kennedy is like a buck being bagged by a hunter...it happens all the time. And like a hunter, sometimes the woman winds up a trophy. So what?
2.1 million people die in the US every year, this based on 2010 death statistics. Mary WHO is just one of millions.
So glad there isn't a Kennedy name in my family but it is so sad for such a young person to die. It doesn't hurt to show some respect in any case. No matter if the negative comes from a troll or just a mean spirited person.

I am friends with the family. Mary took her own life by hanging. She'd been battling problems with alcohol/depression/marital problems for some time. It's not easy being married to a Kennedy, but she tried her best. My heart goes out to the family and especially the children. It's so tragic when someone feels so desperate and alone despite all those around them trying to help. RIP Mary.

.......... Again, anyone under 30 can't relate to the Kennedy era. They aren't stupid it's just that there are no Kennedys of their generation that are contributing to society. Think about it. Their generation has the Facebook clan (not to shabby), and musicians and actors that they look up to that contribute to the world with the money that they make. That's interesting in itself.....
