Satellite image suggests North Korea may have resumed work on reactor

North Korea has resumed work on the construction of a reactor that could help it push forward its nuclear weapons program, according to an academic group's analysis of a recent satellite image.

The blog 38 North, run by the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University, said Thursday that a commercial satellite image from April 30 shows the secretive regime "is now close to completion of the reactor containment building."

The building is intended to house an experimental light water reactor, according to 38 North, which is managed by Joel Wit, a former U.S. State Department official.

Work on the reactor site in Yongbyon appeared to have halted in late December, 38 North said, perhaps because of the death of the longtime North Korean leader Kim Jong Il that month, or more likely as a result of the onset of winter weather.

If the UN and ourselves, the US leave N.Korea alone, history will show their incompetence again, showing their hand internationally with another national mistake.Whether it'd be a botched missile launch or a nuclear meltdown at one of their secret processing plants that process nuclear fuel rods, they're bound to make another mistake, histories cruel joke fate is always with them.We just have to wait till their house of cards eventually falls, hopefully not taking out S.Korea as collateral damage with their testing ,which has been also flawed in the past...We have to show N.Korea we're the big boys on the block and let them learn from their mistakes, hopefully not involving innocents when their mistakes are made.Patience is the key, mistakes with them are an inherent trait...

    Hardly @ banasy.
The Peninsula though is a flash point ready for things to start happening. The 'games' that N.K plays are dangerous as they are erratic.

don't just stop eating the tngihs you like b/c you'll go right back to eating junk in no time. just try to cut back the amounts of the bad foods. say having only 1 piece of chocolate a day or fast food only once a week. try to replace those tngihs with foods that taste good. nobody will stick to a diet that tastes bad. replace candy with fruits and replace soda with water. i can't stress that one enough. if you change only 1 thing about your diet, make it cutting out soda. drink water instead. it's all about what YOUR golas are and how much self-discipline you have. nobody can make you do it, you have to want it. if you cheat on a diet, you're only cheating yourself and you'll have only yourself to blame.
