NASA said it has given the go ahead for the first private spacecraft to proceed toward a rendezvous with the International Space Station on Friday.
The unmanned SpaceX Dragon that launched Tuesday from Cape Canaveral, Florida, has successfully completed all tests so far in preparation for a docking, the space agency said.
"The International Space Station mission management team completed a thorough review of the progress ... and ... unanimously authorized the International Space Station and Dragon flight control teams to proceed toward rendezvous and berthing about 11:20 a.m. ET Friday," the NASA website said.
The Dragon capsule is carrying food, clothing and scientific experiments.

I was watching video footage of this on live tv, and at one point there was a very brief flash of light behind the thing on the screen. Logic is telling me that... this is in outer space, and there's nothing..NOTHING behind the NASA thing on the screen that the tv cameras were watching. It looked like a camera flash in the dark, but from what? what was that flash out there in space?
I rewound it 3 times to try to discern what it could be. tv cameras don't flash like that..and if they do flash at all, it's something continuous. this was just once, and wasnt quite as bright as an actual camera flash but that's the closest thing I can think of to convey it in this post.
Must have TIVO'd it, huh?
no, I watched it on live tv as the report was happening. Carol Costello was reporting. Live tv can be rewound now, and paused. even recorded if you have a DVR.
Well unless you're an astrophysicist or rocket scientist or even a film director, I'm not going to buy an conspiracy theories. Could be a MILLION different things. Maybe a reflection, a glint of light off a piece of metal. There's a lot of shiny stuff up there.
