Lady Gaga canceled her concert in Indonesia, her management said Sunday, citing security concerns after Islamic hardliners denounced her costumes and dance moves as too risqué.
If the concert is held, there are concerns the singer, her crew and attendees may be in harm's way, said Minola Sebayang, the lawyer for the promoters.

Personally whatever footage I ever watched of her performing, was far from aesthetically or musically uplifting.

The Christians protested in the Philipine Muslims saud "cannot guarantee their safety", an implied threat, in Indonesia. Her music does stink, tho.
What's sadder than the threats is the moderates not speaking out against the extremists.

Odd how americans talk of freedoms of speech, religion, and personal choice is at variance with theirs, it is the "other guys" who are in the wrong.

While I don't necessarily condone the actions of either religious group regarding this issue,I can't help but think that Gaga's management team failed to do their homework.The statistics say it plainly: Indonesia is the largest Muslim country in the world! Hello!! Get a clue!! One is certainly free to diagreed with the tactics and threats of the Islamic"hardliners"(which I do),common sense ought to inform you that in a population that is overwhelmingly Muslim,the hardliners/fundamentalists who comprise a substanial enough bloc to influence the populace as a whole.Even if the nation as a whole had welcomed Gaga,the threats of the fanatics were very real,as many,many people have discovered too late,and I think the Indonesian officials had to act on these threats.
