Prince William has had a busy year.
The Duke of Cambridge celebrated his first anniversary with Catherine Middleton and toasted Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee. And on Thursday, he adds another milestone to his list: his 30th birthday.
He's now also legally entitled to half of his mother's inheritance, which was left to him after Princess Diana was killed in a car crash in 1997. His half of the inheritance, according to The Daily Telegraph, would likely be around $15.5 million, with the current currency exchange rate. (What William can buy with that chunk of change)
William has been in the spotlight as the eventual heir to the British throne since early childhood. He's endured his parents' breakup, his mother's death and his own big royal wedding all while the world watched along with him.
The Duke of Cambridge has recently said he and his wife are excited about the prospect of bringing a child into the world.
“I’m just very keen to have a family, and both Catherine and I, you know, are looking forward to having a family in the future," he told ABC's Katie Couric before the Diamond Jubilee.
To celebrate William's big day, we wanted to take a look back at his life. After all, many people would say that he and Catherine have helped the royal family become popular again by making the monarchy more accessible to the public.

How William, Kate and Harry made royals cool

Happy Birthday my brother William, I pray that God will be kind to you and bless you with peace.
"Obama"'s FAULT
Zack: "Don't think Brits need American advice."
Yep, until Brits are bombarded by Germans.
I don't really have an opinion on the royals,The Queen has been around all my life and while i served in The Royal Navy, she was my Boss.Because of my service to my country, I cannot let your comment slide.
The UK held its own against Germany until the US joined the European theatre,we didn't come begging when you refused to join in early on,we stood alone against pure evil.Your govt. knew it and not only watched ,standing idly by but profited from our struggle.
Had we not, there would have been nowhere for the US to be able to station troops ready for the push into Europe. We are a warrior race and ALWAYS step up to the plate,so what if our figurehead, our rallying flag be a King or a Queen, they know only a life of duty and sacrifice their own freedom and privacy from birth to serve us,the most successfull, most battle hardened armed forces the world has ever known, don't dig at our history ,even the bad,we all know a soldier doesn't choose his battles.
The UK has a Queen so what? big deal! works for us,they're incorruptable, impartial and their duty is to serve, and we loves her.
It was such a pleasure going through these photos and remembering these events as we watch the young prince grow into a man. I look forward to seeing the pictures of him as he ages, becomes a dad and a grandfather. He is a class act, just like his adoring mother who was taken too soon.
England DOES make a tonne of money off the Royals. You can google the civils list and get your economics information there, it is very complicated but those with a knowledge in economics will understand it. For those who don't understand economics consider this small sampling of information: approximately 1,000 people work at the Occupied Royal Palaces. The Queen invites approximately 70,000 guests annually to the Palaces and there are approximately 1.5 million paying visitors every year.
Kevin,
Is that why The English and their Canadian lackeys lost the War? Is that why every printed word in Canada up until the 1970's was printed in the US? Is that why you had to create a law to keep American songs off your radio? Our economy hiccups, yours crashes. Get over it mate.
Actually, as the Canadians see it, they WON the War of 1812-because the U.S. wasn't able to take over Upper and Lower Canada(which was a war aim of the Yanks in that conflict).
What does your comment have to do with this article? southernhick, I think you need to get educated in a bad way, alot of people that were in upper canada were from the states, the american army in battle with the british came up and promised the newly settled people in upper canada that they would leave there land alone, but the U.S army couldnt resist , instead they looted homes, beating women and children etc..so the settlers that were american in origin was so disgusted at there own kind they decided to protect there land and bared arms with the british and beat the U.S, then later on the U.S soldiers offered the native indians guns booze etc. for them to help out in there cause but instead the indians told the US soldiers to beat it cause they cant be trusted and then killed them, one thing that canada has had that the US didnt is respect for there own kind and respect for new settlers, canada has never been in a civil war, canada has never been a part of slavery and the canadians respect the world and thats why the world respects canada and yes canada did win the war of 1812 and could of continued the battle and went further south but all they wanted to do is live in peace and fight off the US invaders, this shouldnt come as a shock for ya.
Our economy hiccups, your crashes? You just discredited your entire comment. The American recession of the last 4 or 5 years has not been felt in Canada nearly as bad as what's gone on in the USA....but nice try.
"...every printed word..."?? You actually think there were no printing presses in Canada until the 1970's?
Just because you say something on the internet doesn't make it true.
Exactly, I hope the world sees how wonderful we Americans are, whenever we travel to other countries we aren't rude obnoxious or overbearing. And you wanna bet if there's a sweaty slob at the buffet, it sure ain't one of us.. Yes, winning wars gives us the right to be the Warthog in every room doesn't it ?.. I'd prefer to be Canadian any day dude, and secretly so would you.
I'm so relieved for Wills. The poor lad could hardly make ends meet. Why, Kate was having to serve him "Pheasant Helper" and "I Can't Believe It's Not Caviar!"
omg
something happened somewhere in Britain...to someone
wheeeeeee
by the way, I really do like Napster
She had better gain some weight before considering motherhood.
She has a very healthy figure. You are so used to seeing overweight and obese people around you that you cannot recognize a woman with normal weight anymore.
can you buy happiness with money
You are discussing the war of 1812? Seriously? Let's get back the present. Canada is an insignificant country that no one cares about EXCEPT for the fact it is near the US. California alone has a greater GDP than your entire county, deal with THAT!
Brolan,
Isn't California the state that has the largest city that just declared bankruptcy? How's the GDP working out for you? Good point though, let's focus on the present. Might I suggest you do a little research?
What a bunch of weird comments ... most of 'em having nothing to do with the article. Gotta wonder what makes people tick. H.B., Wills. We love ya!
Canada is a great place with lots of fine people. I visit when I can. No one has ever treated me badly when I visit. They are not perfect and neither are we in the States and I suspect very few people (let alone whole countries) are.
Chris you must be kidding. There is nothing healthy about her weight. She is 5' 8" and was last reported to be 90 pounds! A healthy weight for her assuming she has a small frame would be between 125 and 130. Up to 140 pounds if she has a large frame.
I've always liked the two princes. They seem to be cool dudes that just so happen to also be royalty.
It amazes me that so many people seek to attack others about their views. it was a simple article and how most of you managed to connect it to a war 200 yrs ago astounds me.
why can we not all just get along? The answer to that questions lies in the the state of the world today. I love the
USA. I love Canada. In fact in many of my travels I have found so many wonderful people, in so many different places People are people and if we could just get over our own discriminations about things past and present, we would be so much better off. But forget that...People today are more interested in insulting people than shaking thier hand and getting to know them. Get over it.
