Partial verdict reached in Philadelphia priest abuse trial

Jurors in Philadelphia on Friday reached a partial verdict in the landmark trial of Monsignor William Lynn, the highest-ranking cleric accused of endangering children by helping cover up sexual abuse, according to a source with knowledge of the proceedings.

Lynn, a defendant along with another Philadelphia priest, faces two counts of endangering the welfare of a child by allowing dangerous priests to continue in the ministry in roles in which they had access to children, and one count of conspiracy to protect a priest accused of abuse.

If convicted, Lynn could be sentenced to up to 21 years in prison.

Also on trial is the Rev. James Brennan, who faces charges of attempted rape of a 14-year-old boy, endangering the welfare of a child and other counts.

The verdict is expected to be announced in court at 2 p.m. ET.

On Wednesday, the jury reported that it was unable to reach a verdict on four of five charges in the high-profile case. Common Pleas Court Judge M. Teresa Sarmina ordered jurors to keep deliberating, according to a source with direct knowledge of the case.

Virtually ALL reikigions are "legal". Mans laws change as Preisent Obama's biblical God's laws remains the same...religions disagreeing on things such as was Christ ever born, an ongoing argument jes have with chriistians, and, what religion meets with god's righteous standards.
Outlaw all religions, and then we will ALL know wich one is true in God's eyes.

*ongoing argument jews have with christians, rather. (did the son of God die for our sins or not? Christians say "yes", Jews say "no".)

Philip. Is that you really or your troll?
There is no argument between Jews & Christians. Judaism doesn't recognize Christ as the son of God or even as a prophet.
Its only lately and under an agenda ( military/political) that the world is witnessing a Judeo (read zionist)- Christian (read zionist again) alliance.

  4. HIDE BEHIND

If the Catholic church were any organization except for a religious one, every office it had would of been raided and its Headquarters in Europe would of been done the same, in order to collect further evidence.
The political and economic power of the Catholic organization has allowed each case of child abuse to remain local when in fact its criminal behavior is world wide and systemdemic; part and parcel of its everday operations.
In US at WACO TEXAS our military became involved by wha wrre known to be false vhild aburse charges and ovet 80 unarmed women and vhildren died by that attack.
Then an off shoot of Mormonism compound was raided by full armed law. vhildren takenfrom parents and the leader finaly convited of marriage to multiple underage females; 3.
A land whete judtie can be guaged by money and powrr ris a land without justice, and especially so for those victims of an injustice.

Catholic curch ruled by Vatican has been both a political and at times in history military organization besides being the custodian of the catholic faith.
Catholic church started 400 years after Christ died at Council of Nicea and bible was compiled the. It has been evolving since then and was corrupted considerably during the Middle Ages.

      Good afternoon, saywhat:

When the Council of Nicea first convened, it was to discuss the different beliefs of the different Christian sects, and to come to some sort of agreement on their differing views.
Constantine also wanted a comprehensive book in which to distribute to all of his main churches.
The divinity of Jesus was one of those ideas that differed.
They also were to decide WHICH of the various books made it into what we call the Bible, and many of the writings, such as the Book of Mary, were not included.
The Bible has evolved, as you say, but the KJV was compiled by men who had a different agenda completely than the word of the Lord.
It's still being misinterpreted today, but then one person's understanding is another one's disbelief...

duplicitous banasy...no other cult declares what the catholic church proclaims...the biblical holy texts are inspired by the Holy Spirirt and trully considered The Word...of God...it is capitalized to indicated the very Person of God Himself...the jews would not even point with their finger at the written Word because they understand The Presence of God in His Word which you are incapable, banasy, of grasping...the muslim clearly state their author of their holy text is mohammad, more-mans is john smith, and king james is credited author for their text to included their political protestations...no other religion declares that God inspires these text accept the catholic church themselves...

    @ Rascal Rabble
Your point isn't coming thru lucidly. Do you want to say that the God of Catholic church is so arrogant that He proclaims that only Catholic church would remain till eternity? All religions proclaim that since its purely a matter of faith.
And who says muslims do not proclaim Quran to be the word of God. Prophet Mohammad was not lettered Muslim traditions clearly indicate that the Angel Gabriel brought forth the revelations to Mohammad who then recited them to his companions and followers.
Debating faith goes nowhere never has. As I said its purely a matter of faith.
Good afternoon to you too@banasy. Hope your day ends happily as it began.

@saywhat...by your standards faith is non-existent, a pre-fab notion separated from truth...so faith is individualistic...what ever yoOoou "believe it to be"...that is not faith. "the god of the catholic church"...who is that? listen, the catholic church do not go around fabricating gods for people to worship. catholics adore the One True God; The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; I am Who am; Yaweh; The One Triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; The Word; The Word Incarnate; The Alpha and Omega; The Creator.
the muslim quotes mohammed, as their founder, a man, as their source they do not quote the angel gabriel nor do they hold the angel in the same esteem as mohammed...so who is trully the Light here? the deliverer of the message? or the receiver of the message?
