Prolific writer Nora Ephron dead at 71

(CNN) - Novelist, filmmaker and screenwriter Nora Ephron has died after a battle with leukemia, her publisher said Tuesday. She was 71.

"She brought an awful lot of people a tremendous amount of joy. She will be sorely missed," said the statement from Alfred A. Knopf.

Ephron's romantic comedies included the box office hits "When Harry Met Sally," and "Sleepless in Seattle," both of which earned her screenwriting Oscar nominations.

She was also nominated for an Oscar for writing "Silkwood," the story of anti-nuclear activist Karen Silkwood.

So sorry for the Mrs. Ephron's family and friends. Rest In Peace. 71 is way to young to leave this Earth, although she is in a much better place.

I genuinely enjoyed her work. 'When Harry Met Sally' helped me to understand so much. Godspeed Nora.

I remember seeing her in interviews ,she was funny. She once advised women to" buy a really good swimsuit while in your twenties and then 'never take it off.'" . She said she feared old age and death, I related to her a lot. Sad she's gone.

Why has modern medicine made no progress in finding answers for some (yes even some will do) for disease. It's like the Jerry Lewis telethon ..... the 405 freeway backed up with wheelchairs...but after trillions spent on research..nothing.

Another talent gone too soon. Nora led her life her way and didn't let convention get in the way.

"Silkwood" is a testimonial of nuclear activism for safety in nuclear facilities everywhere. Nora Ephron changed the nuclear industry forever, with this gut wrenching true story, of power, money, and greed, and how it took the life away from Karen Silkwood.
Restr In Peace Nora Ephron. You now have a better home.
