A major bridge between Detroit, and Windsor, Ontario, reopened early Tuesday after a bomb threat shut it down for more than five hours, police said.
Authorities closed the Ambassador Bridge after a bomb threat was received around 7:15 p.m., according to Sgt. Eren Stephens, a Detroit police spokeswoman.
It finally opened at 1 a.m. after bomb-sniffing dogs "did not detect or find a bomb or suspicious device."
The U.S. Coast Guard stopped all maritime traffic below the bridge during the incident.

Why Detroit again? The underwear bomber was going to blow up over Detroit, last week was the tunnel, this week the bridge...are the terrorists trying to do us a favor now? Kidding...
Just another day in Paradise! No mention of the other haps yesterday in the big*D,* but 2600 gals of fuel spilled from a tanker into the sewage system. Coulda been a major blow-up!
The city of Detroit is a major, if not the major, thoroughfare between the U.S. and Canada, carrying tourists, freight and everyday commuters from one country to the next. An act of terrorism here could damage as many lives as 9/11 in two Western countries at the same time. The poor economic state of the city only increases its profile as a "soft target" and I hope the DoHS is keeping their eye on this.
@ LMAtwell, they determined both threats to be a hoax and not terror related! Would be my guess, if i had too, that it has a whole lot more to do with Gov Snyders new bridge proposal, that we, the mich taxpayers cant afford. Also we dont need another.
