An elderly man suspected of Nazi war crimes has been arrested in Hungary, prosecutors said Wednesday, after a worldwide Jewish rights organization discovered him living in Budapest.
Ladislaus Csizsik-Csatary is accused of sending more than 15,000 Jews to the Auschwitz concentration camp in the spring of 1944, the he Simon Wiesenthal Center said.
Agreed. Time to quit beating that dead horse.
Glad they at least found him before he croaked. He ought to be gassed and burned in an oven.
He's 97 years old. Give him a pardon.
Chillipepper: After sending 150,000 people to their deaths, you think he should be pardoned? If the figure was 1.5 million, would you have the same response? While it's a tragedy this criminal had his freedom for so many years, something none of his victims enjoyed, what's the harm in letting the courts of justice give this murderer the fate he deserves!
Should never stop looking for them until they are all gone!
SusyQ, I wonder if you'd have a different opinion if your entire family was annihilated in 1944.
Just the ones you didnt like....poor uncle Hershell just couldnt resist going to work to make some money instead of hiding like the rest of the scared little rabbits.
"the he Simon Wiesenthal Center". Fine job as always, CNN. Why don't you hire a sharp eight-grader to glance over your articles before you post.
So which one are you? The pot or the kettle? eight-grader? Really? I think its eighth-grader.
A criminal is a criminal....keep looking regardless of their crimes and how long ago they allegedly took place. That arguments is moronic.
If your mother/father/daughter/son was brutally murdered by some guy 68 years ago, and he was just found, would you say the same thing? I think not.
You're right. Their deeds were horrible, but hauling them in to prison now is inhumane. Simon Weisenhall has done its job. Time to move on.
If he didn't do the job, he would have been shot and the next guy in line would have been told to do it. Seeing the guy that refused the job before it was offered to you get shot is a strong motivator. Monday morning quarterbacks like to say they would never have done such a thing, but they never had to face the things these people faced.
jews never give up, seeing as 6,000,000 of them were in dire trouble since 1906
Completely agree about current criminals, but this s.o.b shouldnt get away from what he did. The people of Israel should send him to justice even if he only spends one day in jail, and then dies. There'speople out there waiting 68 years for this day
Just cause people are old doesn't mean they should never be punished for their crimes. However this guy is probably on his death bed. Time to quit looking for these people. They are all so old they probably don't remember their own names.
I have no idea where you stand on this issue.
They got him? He pays.
if he is on his deathbead we should make that death as unpleasant as possible.
if he is on his deathbed we should make tha de3ath as unpleasant as possible.
You can run....I don't care if he's 150 years old, hang him in Jerusalem.
They chase these people even more than the ones who owe them money.
Not in Jerusalem. Hang him in his homeland.
To selfish and ignorant Doug Collins: maybe he was not involved in killing any jews- there more of other peoples that were killed during World War II.
