Police: Alleged Sikh temple shooter was vet, 40, and perhaps white supremacist

The man who shot six people to death and wounded three others during a rampage at a Sikh temple in a Milwaukee suburb was an Army veteran who may have been a white supremacist, according to a law enforcement source involved in the investigation.

Law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation named him Monday as Wade Michael Page, 40. One law enforcement official said he owned the gun used in the shooting legally.

He had apparently served on active duty, a U.S. official familiar with his record said. The source declined to give further details.

The officials asked not to be named because they are not authorized to speak on the record about the shooting investigation

Those inside the temple say the man had a 9/11 tattoo on one arm.

The shooter was killed by an officer at the scene after allegedly fatally shooting six people Sunday at a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin.

Reports are now, that the criminal guy was lead singer/performer in a skin head/neo nazi heavy metal band. He was at something called "hammer fest". Also a fair bit about him on Internet – neo nazi post, etc. He sounded like a very unhappy guy. I wish he could have found a better thing to do than taking his anger out on others. Maybe he could have used his energy to go back to school or do something positive. Hurting others will get you no where.

I'm just glad that I'm not the only one to call domestic violence "terrorism". Even my local newspaper called this incident an act of terrorism, as did CNN.
America's number one concern is the economy. Financial terrorists. (get it?) See? See why we need the CIA to help US with domestic terror in all it's forms?

There are numerous so-called definitions of terrorism. But the one codified in US law is ....to paraphrase "premeditated politically motivated violence perpetrated against non-combatant targets by subnational groups......etc". For what its worth, you can call it what you want.

In the coming days, let's see if this "crazy insane" behavior is explained by drug use. (as w/the theatre shooter and Columbine kids)

What makes you think that this has or would involve drugs ? Your quick jumps to assumptions are completly invalid until proven otherwise

Evidence of the theatre shooter was pubished right here on these blogs. He was under the care of a psychiatrist who uses drugs on all of his patients. The Colubine kids were exposed as being ssri antidepressant users just days after the event.
In both cases, I wondered if drugs played a role as you wondered if guns did. Drugs are used in virtually all cases like these, guns, sometimes.
Goto any jail or prison and see 80% of the inmates line-up when prescrition drugs are handed out.
And look for these "random" acts of violence to be reported as acts of terrorism more and more as you become convinced to allow the CIA to waterboard US.

Prison drugs? Sorry no psychotropics for general population. No cancer drugs for Arizona inmates. No anti-inflammatory drugs in most states. And definitely no mood altering drugs except in psychopathic hospitals. Oh and maybe one doctor visit a week for 500 inmates. And if you have an open wound you may get an antibiotic. Federal inmates get a little better treatment.
