Wisconsin temple shooter killed himself, FBI says
Wade Michael Page, who police say fatally shot six people in a Sikh temple in Wisconsin on Sunday, died that day from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head after he was shot in the stomach by a responding officer, Teresa Carlson, the special agent in charge for the FBI in Milwaukee, said Wednesday.
Police previously said that he was shot to death by an officer responding to the attack in Oak Creek.
Page, a 40-year-old Army veteran who neighbors say played in a so-called hate-rock band, was the lone gunman in the rampage at the temple, police said.

Message to the Sikhs. USA is a great country & we Sikhs love this country. Sikhs need to play their role in removing Ignorance prevailing amongst many racist or militant groups by reaching out to militant groups, connecting with them & informing them – that i) We are NOT Muslims. We were born out of Hinduism as a part of anti-Muslim movement in India 5 centuries ago. ii) Killing any human is bad – whether Muslim or Sikh or any other.
Daily prayer of Sikhs calls for “good, well-being, benefit, welfare, benevolence for EVERYONE i.e. all humans, animals, birds, nature etc. We believe in community service. Many Sikhs wear turban & have beard. This Sikh turban is NOT Taliban or Muslim turban. Sikhs served in World Wars I & II. Just like other American people, Sikhs have suffered at the hands of fanatic Muslims; from 15th century till now. Hindus suffered at the hands of fanatic Muslims since the last 11 centuries. It is real tragic that we Sikhs are misunderstood & mistaken as Muslims. Sikhs have no enmity with mainstream peaceful Muslims or any other religion.
It would be a very good idea for the Sikh communities to connect with the rest of the American population and educate them about their beliefs. However, any Muslim who reads your comment might feel offended. It sounds like the whole American population should really focus and hate the Muslims instead of the Sikhs...which should really not be the goal. I know the history of Sikhism and aware that many of your gurus were tortured to death by lunatic leaders who claimed themselves to be Muslim. However, the Quran says that Islamic beliefs are not to be forced onto anyone. Just remember all the beautiful poetry in Guru Granth Sahib that were written by Muslims! Also, many of the elements of Sikhism emerged from Islam so I really hope that you don't suggest that we rather hate Muslims. The American media did a great job brainwashing people against Islam and all the millions of Muslims who would never harm anyone. That's a shame.
