A suicide bomber killed two intelligence officers Monday in Afghanistan, officials said.
Fourteen civilians and another intelligence officer were wounded, said Ahmad Zerak, governor of Helmand province.
The attacker targeted a checkpoint run by the Afghan National Directorate of Security in the town of Lashkar Gar, Zerak said.
Gosh I wish we would pull out of the middle east and north africa. Doesn't look like it will ever happen though. If we would just leave these people alone and focus on our own problems here, maybe things would get better everywhere.
Neil: Have to agree. WE are NOT going to change these people. Thier history and culture, and unwillingness to change should prove that we do not need to be in these countries.
Our longest running war enters its 12th year.Great.
Had our political leadership bothered to read history , invasion of Afghanistan wouldn't have taken place. No power or invader has ever been able to conquer or rule these people. You can trade with them, they would allow you routes to other regions if you deal with them right but occupy their land or rule them ? No Sir.
And BTW we have not been there to change them. It was an invasion and is now an occupation.
Guess these Intelligent Officer's weren't so intelligent if they didn't see/hear this one coming. :-P
CNN, this is just lazy. Ahmad Zerak is not the governor of Helmand Province. A two second Google search will tell you that.
