Former Penn State University President Graham Spanier was arraigned Wednesday morning on charges he helped to cover up allegations that Jerry Sandusky was sexually abusing boys on campus, CNN contributor Sara Ganim reports.
Spanier was fired in November 2011 when the scandal broke, and was charged last week with obstruction of justice, conspiracy, endangering the welfare of children, failure to report a crime and perjury. He had been Penn State's president for about 16 years.
District Judge William Wenner set his bail at $125,000 unsecured – meaning he won't have to pay any unless he fails to show up for future court dates – and the judge ordered that Spanier not leave the state of Pennsylvania without permission.
Spanier, former athletic director Tim Curley and ex-Vice President Gary Schultz all face charges stemming from the Sandusky scandal. Curley and Schultz were arraigned Friday.

This is turning out to be a witch hunt of the 17th century to satisy a rabid mob.
GatorALLin...good idea, but, ya know, people, including sociopaths, sometimes pass lie detecter tests because they've believed their lies were right for a very long time. AND Dottie was contemptious of those children like they were in a caste or class system beneath her and should be glad for any little morsel tossed to them.
as for Freeh's "track record"; Freeh's report helped to bring horrible doings that should have been prosecuted years ago to light. It's not an easy task to fell "Goliaths" who are backed by the systemS that covered Sandusky and many other crooks. Is everyone forgetting the prosecutor who 'disappeared' when he tried to do what is now beginning to be done? Organized ***** has members almost everywhere who enjoy well-paid 'quieting jobs'.
If it is proven he did in fact know Sandusky was raping children he should be his cellie
Many people know a big religion-business is contaminated by robe-wearing child-defilers who are in it for the same reason Sandusky started charities. Follow the abuse trail and it will go from one to the other and around the world. The task is immense. The good must not let themselves be dominated into giving up this task or become tired of it. Our children will not ever be safe if we are caused to forget or if we give up.
Put a big fat "R" on his jacket.
Good! Get them all...including Dottie! She's a posterchild for "Enabler."
If Sandusky's wife knew what her husband was up to and protected him, then why did he go to the Penn State showers to molest boys? He could have done it safely in his home.
he DID do it safely in his home.
If he was unemployed or a blue collar worker he's already be convicted and in jail.
