Israel airstrikes target Palestinian militants in northern and southern Gaza

Israeli airstrikes hit Palestinian targets in Gaza overnight, scoring direct hits on a "terror tunnel" and a weapons storage facility, the military says.

A military representative says militants have launched more than 110 rockets since Saturday.

"The IDF will not tolerate any attempt to harm Israeli civilians, and will operate against anyone who uses terror against the State of Israel," an Israel Defense Forces statement issued today says. "The Hamas terror organization is solely responsible for any terrorist activity emanating from the Gaza Strip."

Let's update a little more–A rocket hit an apartment building in Netivot this morning, after the cease fire. Yesterday there were missiles in Beersheva during school pickup.

Palestinians can't live in a big jail like Gaza, Gaza is under siege from years, they not allowed to enter essential materials like cement, iron and some foods and medicament, Stop the occupation and give the Palestinian the freedom and the peace will come.
There are 5 millions Palestinians (Christians and Muslims) live behind Israeli borders (occupation) ! Only 1.8 millions have the right to vote(Israel recognize them as Israeli), others don't have any right even the right to move (Apartheid) or build houses or even sown trees. Israel doesn't want Peace, Israel keep killing Palestinians, Israel doesn't want to stop stealing the Palestinians land or even declare stop build Jews settlements on Palestinians land!

I agree that terror is terror, but it is used on both sides, repeating the word over and over will not change that!

IDF is not shooting at civilians. Yes, in hot war civilians do get hurt, and killed. But Hamas & the other TERRORISTS in Gaza never aim at soldiers with their rockets – only at towns and cities.
Button up here, you appear stupid. Go bash Israel somewhere else.

As you sat comfortably in front of your TV with friends watching college football on Saturday or hanging out at the mall, people in southern Israel sat in their bomb shelter as they felt their homes shake from the constant rain of rocket fire.

Sunday is the first day of the business week where stores should be open and children attend school. How many children in your neck of the woods need to run and find shelter within 15 seconds or risk dying as they walk to school?

The msm in the U.S. rarely if ever reports the terrorist activities coming from Gaza. Israel is chastised every time they defend themselves. People need to know the truth and the terrorism from Gaza needs to stop!

People who make stup!d statements because they are so biased and ignorant of the facts, ARE in fact stupId, regardless of their education. For the last number of years hamas, who are making life miserable for their own people, has been preventing any peace deals with Israel. You can NOT have peace without recognizing that Israel is an independent sovereign Jewish nations with established borders.

Now, you may scream all you want to about those borders BUT it is impossible to negotiate with people like hamas because they are only interested in the destruction of Israel. If, by now, you don't understand what I'm trying to tell you, then it confirms my calling you a stup!d irresponsible person for your own people if you are from Gaza.

Over a hundred missiles shoot toward Israeli civilian centers form the Palestinian side yesterday. A hundred missiles the peace loving Palestinian shot. What is wrong with them? How can they claim they want calm. Watch the Palestinian HAMAS video clips! They are shooting from civilian centers.

What is wrong with the Palestinian?
They need someone like Gandhi, not their current leadership that does not recognize any western logic.

News comments on Israel are really getting filtered well Fox no longer even takes comments because anything on Israel is met with harsh response, basically nobody but a fool will listen to news out of Israel it's all propaganda and it's been changed and modified and checked at least 7 times in country and then rechecked by brothers and sisters in the US.

The Palis themselves should REMOVE hamas and elect someone that WILL give them a better future for all with first recognizing Israel as an independent Jewish nation, and then, serious negotiations will take place for a secured state for the Palis also.

The palestinians are in a jail in Gaza not because of Israel BUT BECAUSE of hamas torturing and killing anyone who even thinks of wanting peace and freedom for these people. Arafat was no better; He killed more Arabs while in power
than any other so called leader. hamas is doing the same thing over, ... and hiding like chickens behind civilians and children while attacking Israel. The are the Demons of darkness in Gaza.

It was the same before Hamas was elected. A open air jail. You can only make people live in misery so long before they come to the conclusion that something, anything must be done. Israel is living a nightmare of its own construction.

War in the name of ANY religion is insane. No one ever wins. There are only losers. Those left with hate and anger waste their lives seeking retribution and in turn ruin the lives of their families and friends. Is this what any loving god really wants for us. Factor in money and you have a perfect storm of hate. Why do people constantly fall for this insanity fighting over a god that will not show himself. Will not help mankind by ending wars. But yet so many still feel this need to kill on his behalf. Religion is brainwashing and truly the root of all that is evil. More people are touched by war than are touched by the good of any church. The devastation of war lasts a life time and this is the gift god has given you and you thank him for it ? None of you are thinking only acting. You have a brain, use it.

To realize just how bad religions are one should look at the tremendous achievements of countries where religion was or is forbidden. A couple of these examples are Soviet Union, Socialist Albania or Peoples Democratic Republic of Korea (commonly known as North Korea).

    Dear Adel
This round of violence started by the Palestinians (shot into Israeli territory), escalated by the Palestinians (shot over a hundred missiles into Israeli cities (dear god a hundred missiles). The fact that Israel built technology to stop it (pretty cool- you have to admit), should not change the facts. This is the reason you see casualties on the Palestinians side and almost none on the Israeli side.

The Palestinians can blame themselves for this mess.
BTW this is the same reason for the wall to stop the suicide bombers and the reason for the horrible economy state.

Please image 2 missiles shot to Texas from Mexico, or 3 missiles shot to China from Vietnam, and you can see how gentle is the Israeli respond is.

You forget the rockets fired from airplanes and helicopters from Israel. There is no way to go back and say who shot first. This conflict has gone on way to long. What the world should be focusing in on is who shot last.
Secondly, its amazing, but just before Israels elections violence erupts. Do the Palestinians have a benefit from that? No, hardliners up for reelection do as it gets people following patriotic lines as the head for the polls. This happened in 2008, exactly as it is happening right now, and Israel invaded the strip. Thousands lost their lives. Again I ask , who has more to gain?

      Dear Adel,
As far as I recall, Israel had left Gaza 6 years ago – to make it more clear, following your logic, there is NO "occupation" in Gaza, yet, since Israel left Gaza, 1,000s of Rokets and Missiles where shot on Israeli Civil Towns such as Shderot, Ofakim, Beer-Sheva.
Please stop lying to the word about "occupation" and "apartheid" , and tell the simple true, you hate Israelis, Jews, and Western people, and you want to kill them all.

The picture is a lie. It is sad when children are dead, but the IDF never target Civilians, it is the Hamas and Islamic jihad that hides behind civilians, and then come wining that children (their own...!!!) were kiled or wounded.
Also, Hamas and Jihad Target Israeli schools, and fire rokets especially when it is pickup time.

Just to remide everyone, Israel had withdrawal from Gaza 6 years ago, isn't that what The "Palestinians" always wanted, end of "occupation" !?

As long as the Palestinians in Gaza and elsewhere are willing the war to continue it means that they're happy with its results. This also means that in order to end the war Israel MUST make the Palestinians UNHAPPY with the war. Only then the Palestinians will demand their leaders to seek peace. For example, if Israel established a new settlement in return for any Palestinian act of terrorism even the dumbest Palestinian would realize that terrorism in not effective. Similarly, if ten Israeli missiles wre flying back to Gaza in response to every Palestinian missile launched from there the Palestinians would realize that (maybe) peace is a better option.

In reality, there is no such people as palestinians? even arafat was an Egyptian. This was made up by him to make other people think that they came from the region somehow?! In fact, they came from JORDAN. JORDAN didn't want them because arafat wanted to topple the king of Jordan then, so they went to Lebanon and created more problems for the Lebanese and terroism in Israel. That is why Israel chased them all out then, and arafat fled to Tunisia. A bunch of terrorists are taking advantage of the people in Gaza and have no interest in having ANY PEACE with Israel.

I wish someone will understand what's it like to live like that.
to not know if you can take a shower, because maybe the alarm will start...
to choose which of your kids you'll grab first when you have to hide from the rockets..
to wonder if someone will come to your wedding, if it's even OK to celebrate.
these things – nobody writes about them, nobody cares. I think the only people who understand this pain are the people from the other side of the border.
just regular people who are stuck in their leaders power demonstration.
sad and I can't see any solution...

    November 12, 2012 at 6:05 am | Report abuse | Reply

The solution is to CONVINCE the Palestinian PEOPLE that peace is better than war. Then the Palestinian PEOPLE will demand their leaders to ask for peace. It's unfortunate that the only effective way to do it is to convince the Palestinians that war is worse, MUCH worse than peace.
