Israeli envoy in Egypt for talks on Gaza cease-fire

[Updated 2:16 pm. ET] An Israeli special envoy arrived in Egypt for talks with Egyptian intelligence chief Mohammed Shehata, who is trying to bring about a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas, the Egyptian government said Sunday.

[Updated 11:22 a.m. ET] The Israeli military killed Yehiya Bia, one of the heads of Hamas' rocket-launching unit, in a targeted strike Sunday in Gaza, the Israel Defense Forces said. Hamas did not immediately confirm the report.

[Posted 7:08 a.m. ET] Israeli artillery flew into Syria early Sunday after rounds coming from Syria struck an Israeli army patrol in the Golan Heights, the Israel Defense Forces said.

The IDF reported no deaths or injuries, but said one military vehicle was damaged.

Israel said it did not know whether Syrian government or rebel forces fired the rounds that landed in the Golan Heights.

As of Sunday morning, the state-run Syrian Arab News Agency had not reported on such back-and-forth firing.

More he said, she said! My guess Israel would really like to initiate WWIII, and theyve gotten a great start on it. So when is that anti-missil shield going up?

Every warmongering county in history used the 'excuse' of claiming 'self defense' as the justification to invade. America is not controlled by Israel even if Netanyahu claims they do. This sleeping predominantly Christian country will let Israel get destroyed and consumed by the Muslims. Israel started this fight and I fear the Muslims will end for it.

I wonder how many targeted killings Isreal think they can commit with no consquences, How long do they think they can just take land, block roads, limit commerce, restrict the movements of a whole class of people with no consquence. The old adage, "You can kick a pet dog but so long before he/she finally bites you", Thus the current debacle we have in the Middle East.

I voted for President Obama and now wonder.
President of US of A stands up and supports this naked aggression. Not the leader of the free world and leader of a country that champions human rights, justice for all, freedom etc etc.

its obvious that your news source is once sided. You say terrorist are bad and Israel is good, when they are one in the same. This are will never no peace until israel wipes out palestine and no one is trying to stop them. A cease fire will last a couple years at most then again Israel will claim self defense and launch a major attack. Eventually this will continue with another cease fire and restart again years later, each time leaving palestine weaker and weaker until it cease to exist. The worst part of it is that the U.S. supports Israels "right to defend itself" but there is a clear difference between defense and genocide which is happening right now.
