Germany agrees to send Patriot missiles, troops to Turkey

The German Cabinet has agreed to send Patriot missiles and up to 400 soldiers to Turkey to deter the Syrian civil war from spilling into the country.

The cabinet decision, made in a special session today, follows a move by NATO foreign ministers Tuesday  to approve Turkey's request for such missiles.

Errant Syrian artillery shells struck the Turkish border town of Akcakale and killed five Turkish civilians in October.

Turkey asked NATO to deploy Patriot missiles along its border to bolster its air defenses against Syrian threats.

In addition to Germany, the United States and Netherlands - both of which have Patriot capabilities - have signaled they would be willing to contribute missiles.

“Any deployment will be defensive only. It will in no way support a no-fly zone or any offensive operation," the NATO statement said.

The decision was made as news surfaced about fears of Bashar al-Assad's government using chemical weapons.

No, Nate, you're the one who's wrong. Israel did just fine without American "religions". Israel's greatest victories, in 1948 and in 1967, were achieved without the US.

    No, Leo. YOU are wrong.
Ask any Jew...Israel's greatest victories came BEFORE Israel began aligning themselves with God's enemies (gentile nations), NOT after.
When God was with Israel, all that was needed was a little boy David and a sling[shot] to defeat God's enemies in one day. Even with tanks and guns and jets, it took 6 days in 1967. PROOF that God is no longer with Israel.
Of COURSE God is still with faithful Jews who have hope. But NOT with the warmongering government of Israel. There is no hope for Israel's leaders who side with gentiles.

Years now I ve been reading these and at the end everyone is pointing the finger the other guy, it's sad:( or talking about all the negative things that has been done to one other. That fuels people with hate creates wars everyone looses of course except the weapon companies:) I would love to read about how to fix the problem between Isreal & palastainions

@Gani. Really? You don't see that both sides are in the wrong?
No matter if you look at the Israel-Palestine conflict from the viewpoint of international law or from the viewpoint of those who have confused Israel's government with members of the Jewish faith, BOTH sides are in violation.
Jewish law forbids Israel's government from siding with gentile nations, and Palestinians tolerate Hamas terrorists more than we tolerate those who knowingly spread HIV. :) i guess it should read All three sides are wrong.

For a certainty, the fuel that feeds the Israel-Palestine conflict is the false christian teaching that today's Israeli government are God's earthly representatives.
If you take-away US religious leaders who have been teaching US for decades that Israel's government is "God's chosen", none of this would be happening.
We wouldn't even be having this conversation had American christians never been sold on modern-day Israel.

...and the Patriot can't (or couldn't, anyway) hit the broad side of a barn.
There was only ONE confirmed "kill" of a US Patriot Missile hitting a Scud Missile launched at Israel by Saddam Husseins order. (not the will of the Iraqi people whom he dictated)
With the Patriot NOT shooting down Scuds, Israel was hit several times. This INSURED that US christian leaders in cahoots with certain politicians would begin pursuading American christians to ratttle their sabres for war.
Again.Put corks in the mouths of US CHRISTIAN LEADERS, and none of this happens.

    Corks in *pieholes, rather.
Also, install boy poop detectors at every church in America. If a churgoers hand smells of boy poop, arrest that man. You have my permission to waterboard both him and his wife if they do not fully cooperate. ty

If there is no god, then why support Israel? Why borrow money from China and donate it to Israel? Why finance the Israeli MOSSAD violating international law?
Why did the US taxpayer pay for the building of the world's 5th mightiest military (Israel's) if there is no god?
These things are really happening and have happened. And so God is real. A false god would never be able to accomplish this.
You say a false god could do what only the true God can accomplish. Is your false god no-god at all? Is your god 'money', perhaps?
