[Updated at 3:11 p.m. ET] Software pioneer John McAfee was being transported to a Guatemala City hospital in an ambulance Thursday after his attorney reported he had convulsions.
[Posted at 1:38 p.m. ET] Guatemala has rejected American software mogul John McAfee's bid for asylum, presidential spokesman Francisco Cuevas said Thursday.
McAfee, wanted for questioning in neighboring Belize in connection with the death of his neighbor there, was on the run for weeks and was detained in Guatemala on Wednesday on suspicion of entering the country illegally, officials said.
His lawyer, Telesforo Guerra, filed a formal request for asylum with Guatemalan officials Wednesday.

Such stress to deal with, guilty or not. Major stress often shows up in some physical manifestation in the body somewhere and in some way. Here it is convulsions .
I'm sure he's faking it.
Here's a sick joke that actually makes the rounds in some nursing classes and care facilities.
Q. What do you do if your patient has convulsions in the bathtub.
A. Throw in the laundry and hope he keeps going until the rinse cycle.
The convulsions are a last ditch effort to remain in the country. If it can be proven he's too ill to be moved then he stays there.
This guy is less than worthless. What a total waste of human life and oxygen.
A total act to avoid being shipped back to Belize. He chose that country to live and should be sent back to face the questions
Likely he shot the guy who poisoned his dogs....but why did he have so many dogs outside bothering the neighbors ? they should have been in the house with him. Looks like a paranoid guy who goes out of control. We are soon to find out the truth.
This sudden convulsion is nothing more but his desire to work out how to scape again...let's not forget that is a person not stupid at all but showing a rare mix of psychological problems...definitely success is not for everybody and some people get crazy with it.
