Campus police at California State University San Bernardino shot and killed a graduate student following an altercation Saturday night, authorities said.
Police said officers responded to University Village, an off-campus student dormitory, regarding a disturbance involving Bartholomew Williams, 38.
Williams became aggressive and an altercation with officers followed in the hallway of the dorm, the college said in a statement. Officers then fired their weapons because they feared for their lives, police said.
Williams died at the scene.
One officer was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injury.
Williams was majoring in educational instructional technology, and started at the school in the summer of 2011, police spokesman Sid Robinson said.
a grad student doesn't major in anything
Well, "she's" here. That's my cue to say have a good day, everyone.
It's good to see you again, chrissy. See ya round.
Now I really want her name, if she can drive people off these blogs! "She" sounds magnificent! My kind of woman!
Student- "Don't taze me bro"
Americans more and more think that all they have to do is act in an aggressive and threatening manner and they will get what they want even if they are completely in the wrong. Likely this guy was one of them but went too far with the wrong people. Likely but of course we don't know the details.
Then you are hereby off the list, normal person!!
So where's Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton?
It seems like another case of white cops killing black people.
You seem like another case of a mental-defective Obama voter who doesn't know your rear end from your face.
To: The "get a gun" crowd.
All that you having a gun does is turn a simple robbery into a complicated homicede.
Get a clue. You are one, they are many. (why we call them "gangs") Let that dirbag have your TV. Do NOT shoot him in the back you freaking moron.
These were campus police officers. Are you saying police officers should no longer carry guns too? Oh, that's right, if the public stops carrying guns, the criminals are soon to follow their example. LOOOOOOL! If someone breaks into my house it won't be his back I'll shoot at.
not really a coherent rant!!
It's 2012. You have texts, twitter, email, and Facebook. Use them. Dork.
Cops have a license to kill period... May be Mr. Williams was trying to defend himself...
At this time of the year the police officers were just enjoying themselves killing black people. They didn't mean to serve or protect anyone.
Your statement doesn't make sense.
If they were capable of thinking they wouldn't be cops.
Hire cops who are pretty strong and not scared of angry, drunk people. Maybe use a tranquilizer gun or stun gun.
It's the new way of the world, Ladies and Gentlemen. Shoot first, ask questions later. Folks are not as quick to think as they are to react now of days and many times, common sense takes a back seat. Personally, I think if you shoot an unarmed man, you are a coward.
Less men these days.
I don't know the "official" facts, so I certainly can't make a clear judgment, but it seems to me that perhaps this man could have been taken down without the taking of his life. I am sure that there are parts of the body that can be shot at which would take someone down but not fatally. The proper use of a tazer is another possibility.
I earned my Masters degree at age 50. Whats age and major got to do with this?
