Jenni Rivera's remains found, turned over to family

We are just learning that the remains of music star Jenni Rivera, who died in a plane crash Sunday, have been identified and turned over to her family, according to a spokesman for Mexico's Nuevo Leon state.

The remains of Rivera's publicist and the plane's co-pilot were also identified. It is unclear how officials were able to identify all of the remains at this point.

We are continuing to learn more about what happened during the flight Rivera was on, including that her plane plunged from 28,000 feet, according to Mexican officials.

I am latina and I live in NYC, never heard any of her music on the three known spanish FM stations. I knew of her once last year when she made headline on Telemundo for beating up a fan at one of her concert, but that's about it. And from there to being a DIVA.. don't know how they automatically put her in that category. It is tragic the way she died, but hey people die everyday and horribly.

I'm Mexican-American as well as Jenni & I truly admired her as a singer, woman & mother. I'm fortunate two have two cultures & listen to both English & Spanish music. I'm sad of her death as I loved her music & was a fan of hers. My condolences to the Rivera family, specially her children. She will be missed...

"To make it more clear she it was very popular here in the USA"

She was very popular to a very very small, select group of people. The majority of the US never heard of her.

Check service records of the aircraft. Find out if service and parts were installed in Mexico.
Many aircraft owners fly aircraft into Mexico to save labor. Many used parts of different quality are avail in Mexico as well. Aircraft do not plunge 28,000 feet with out serious flight control problems.

i dont understand why everyone has to clarify that they are hispanic or mexican and didnt know her. Why does that matter. she died people. she left children behind. she was a single mother. that is what matters. showing your ignorance right now doesnt. and the reason she is being mentioned on this article is because whether some of you like it or not she was a celebrity. the other passengers we not insignificant, they were just not known in the world of entertainment. that i have to even say that for some of you to understand is ridiculous. Rip to all passengers of this horrible accident. your are definitely in a much better place than this world of hipocracy, racism and hate.

Wolf mentions about those with mental illness and should they be allowed to buy weapons. . . . . . There are many many individuals who suffer from depression, anxiety or PTSD and OCD who do not commit crime.

There are many individuals with no history of mental illness who commit horrific crime. Just saying. . . . . .
