3 arrested in massive maple syrup heist

Much of a huge cache of maple syrup snatched from a Quebec storage facility has been recovered, police say.

Three people have been arrested and five others are being sought in connection with the theft from a warehouse in Saint-Louis-de-Blandford, Quebec Provincial Police said in a statement Tuesday. The theft occurred between August 2011 and July 2012, police said.

    These gentlemen have certainly got themselves into a very sticky situation, here. There is no time for waffling about when you commit a crime like this. Even stupid cons know if you move like molasses you can't expect to get away.

      Thanks for the post Verity.The histogram cofnirms just how exceptional the month of Dec was.At the depth of the cold I travelled between Crumlin and Antrim a journey of about 8 Miles and was astonished to observe double-digit subzero temps the whole way in the afternoon! (OK my car's thermometer isn't calibrated, but I would think it should be within +/- 1 C)No one here remembers such unrelenting cold fortunately no water pipes froze and so far the water supply has not been interrupted.

      Would you rather news aoout yet another killing spree? And that maple syrup heist meant a lot of economic woes for the producers, etc. so it was big news for them.
