genold, would you please lay out your thinking process step-by-step so that I can see how you are arriving at this conclusion? It's amazing. I'd like to do research into this. I think there's a thesis for a master's degree here. Please lay this all out for me. Start with the article's headline and then progress step by step. Please don't leave anything out. This is really critical.

Do you suppose the NRA should receive commendations or some sort of award for all these shootings? We aren't here to attack the NRA, But I was sad that they couldn't even respond or give condolences the day of the Sandy Hook tragedy. Cowards.

I tell you how NRA is related to this:

Government: It's legal to own guns aka 2nd amendment
NRA: Got it, we will push the gun industry, make it cheap and affordable and easily accessible for everyone. We will make lots of money off it and spend on lobbying against any laws that try to control gun sales.
Government: Shhhhhh, don't say that out loud.

(After 49 of 61 mass shooting in America are involved with legally obtained guns, and 70% of them semi-automatic...)

Government: I am not sure about allowing everyone to have easy access to guns anymore.....
NRA: Dont worry about it, we will provide the funding for your next election. All you have to do is keep defending our second amendment...

Semi-automatic pistols have been around since 1893, give or take a few years.
assault weapons are not for sale to the public.. UNLESS you have a class3 license.

Revolvers hold 5-9 shoots semi-auto pistols up to 20. My sig 9mm holds 17. And with the 5 mags I have just as deadly in a class room as AR style rifle.
People posting in these blogs want to blame the NRA for “sending” weapons to all the towns where the killings took place. Really????????????
Do you really believe that a group would do something so horrible? Only if you’re one of the 911 truthers.
And for those of you who insist that buying a gun is real easy have not purchased one……….
Please do not be swayed by DA’s that think by throwing more money or outlawing something that it will “fix the problem”
      It won’t

I was reading an article some time back about rebels, in war torn countries, selling their weapons for seeds or other farm animals. Their faces showed the scars and weariness of violence – it was moving. What have they discovered that we have not? I personally believe there are too many persons under medications that affect mental processes and an uncontrolled proliferation of weapons. Bad combination.

Kind of like prison, right? No one gets killed in prison because they don't have access to guns.

This is linked to a grossly embellished interpretation and abuse of intent of the original meaning of the Right to Bear Arms. More importantly this is a serious cultural problem.

The American Culture is one of the most violent in the world. Violence is violence. You can't reason that that our violence is better because we are free and we defend for more virtuous reasons. More guns=more violence. It’s unreasonable to debate that.

The United States has notoriously liberal gun laws, and the highest rate of gun ownership in the world per capita. People have guns registered under their children and pets names!! Why??

Why do we need to collect guns? I won’t own a gun for the same reason I won't own a pit bull. Increased risk. Collect butterflies or stamps.

And by the way, intimidation is brutality too and will often incense more violence. You are not defending your family by owning a gun you are sending a threatening message to your neighbors.

Speaking of neighbors, 26% of Americans suffer from diagnosable mental disorders. We often try to grapple with the reasons why someone would hurt innocent people because we know that it is not considered normal accepted behavior but consider if someone is ill and does not have the ability to make sound judgment. Instead of investing in guns which all of us taxpayers do, why not take all those millions and invest in the health of our people.

People kill people period more people was killed in 2011 with hammers than assault rifles, Do we try to ban them? Media has everyone screaming in circles that they are bad bad bad when it's only 1% of the violent killings in America and they do not give the % numbers of those which were killed by police to criminals. Hand guns kill more than rifles and shotguns combined. Blaming the NRA for criminals actions would be like blaming AAA or GM for drunk drivers actions.
